Mary A. Dubetsky, 85 of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018, at home. 

Widow of Lawrence J. Dubetsky, she is survived by; son, Anthony M. Domday and his wife, Cynthia, of Barnesville; daughter, Diane Downey of Hazleton, grandchildren, Allison M. (née Domday) Freeman, Anthony E. Domday, Anna R. Domday, Joseph J. Downey, Matthew J. Downey, great grandchildren, Madison Mary Leiby, Elliott J. Freeman, and Stella R. Downey, numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was predeceased by her brother John Allison and sister Catherine Loder.

Born July 1932 in Tamaqua, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (née Casey) Allison. 

A graduate of St. Jerome High School, Mary was Catholic by faith. She retired from the former Atlas Powder Co. of Reynolds in 1992 after forty-two years of service. Mary enjoyed the ocean, gardening, game shows, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Candida Marie Webber, 67, of Pottsville, passed away Wednesday, June 27th, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Schuylkill, E. Norwegian St.

Born in New Philadelphia, PA on June 23, 1951, she was the daughter of the late William & Mary (Pretti) Dooley.

She was the loving wife of William E. Webber. The couple shared 43 years of marriage.

Candida was a 1969 graduate of Nativity BVM High School, Pottsville, and a 1972 graduate of Sacred Heart Nursing School, Allentown.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Pottsville.

Candida was formerly employed as a registered nurse by Coaldale State Hospital, Leader Nursing Home, and Dr. Robert Boran & Associates.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her daughter, Jennifer Basom & husband, Blake, Mechanicsburg, grandsons: Landon & Emmett, and family & friends.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by aunts, Margaret Dooley, Catherine Dooley, and Mary Brennan.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville on Tuesday, July 3 at 11 a.m. Visitation with the family will occur from 10 a.m. until the time of mass at the church on Tuesday.

Interment will be privately held at the family's convenience.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in Candida's memory be made to the Four Diamonds at Penn State Children’s Hospital - 1249 Cocoa Avenue, Suite 115, P.O. Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033.

Eleanor Bergen, 86, of 1015 Laurel Blvd, Pottsville, died Monday June 25, 2018 at LVHN – Schuylkill – East , Pottsville.

Born in St. Clair, March 22, 1932, She was a daughter of the late Francis and Eleanor (Dimmerling) Moore.

Eleanor worked as a sales person at Moore’s Sneaker Place and retired as a machine operator having worked at Miss Pennsylvania and several area garment factories and belonged to ILGWU.

She was of the Catholic Faith and a member of the former Mary Queen of Peace R.C.C, Pottsville.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers George, Joseph and Dennis “Ozzie” Moore; a sister Frances Jones.

Surviving are a son Frank Bergen and his wife Ethel of Orwigsburg; 2 daughters Eleanor Kuhn of Pottsville; Marie Brower and her husband Barry of Pottsville; brother John Moore of Pottsville; sister Elizabeth Robbins of Mt. Carmel; 6 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews.

Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 AM Monday from St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, 201 Randel St Schuylkill Haven Schuylkill Haven with Msgr. Edward S. Zemanik officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 712 S. Keyser Ave. Taylor, PA 17931. Burial will be private in Queen of the Universe Cemetery, Pottsville.

Janet Davis, 78, native of Frackville, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Fellowship Manor in Whitehall, PA on Sunday, June 24, 2018.

Born in Frackville, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Florence Johnson Bailey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers John and Clarence (JR) Bailey.

Janet was a graduate of Frackville High School, member of the Class of 1957. During her years there, she made many long lasting friendships and spent much of her leisure time dancing to the tunes of the times. For 25 years she was married to William “Billy” Davis, with whom she raised two daughters, Colleen Davis, of Albrightsville and Philadelphia, and Jill Davis of Philadelphia. She is also survived by her brother Donald and his wife Lois Bailey, Arizona; her three sisters: Jean White, Fountain Springs, Joan and her husband Howard Snyder, Gordon and Florence Kehler, Girardville; several nieces and nephews.

Janet was a long time employee of Fund Plan Services and she retired from PNC Bank after many years of employment in the finance industry. She never lost her love of dancing. Even as she struggled with a debilitating illness she could still enjoy tapping out the beat to a Bill Haley song. Janet was a brave and loving person who brought joy into the lives of her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 30th at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home in Frackville at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Ernest Diefenderfer officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends wishing to honor her memory make a contribution to the charity of their choice.

Sonya Rivenburgh, 76, of Mahanoy City, PA, passed away Tuesday, June 26th, at Shenandoah Senior Living Community, Shenandoah.

Sonya was born in the Vulcan on November 18, 1941, a daughter of the late Mary (Wargo) and Adam Setcavage.

She belonged to UCC Faith church in Delano.

Sonya graduated from Mahanoy Twp High School.

She had worked many years ago for Aero Drapery in Mahanoy City.

Sonya is survived by a daughter, Christina Pugh and her husband Robert, of Delano and a son, Thomas Caddy, of Mahanoy City and by 2 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by brothers Francis and Eugene, and a granddaughter Leanna Pugh.

A Religious Service will be held at the Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Mahanoy City, PA, at 11 am on Saturday, June 30th, with Rev. David Shoobridge officiating.

Friends may call Saturday 9 to 11 am at the Funeral Home.

Helen J. Umberger, age 83, of Pottsville, died Friday, June 29 at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

She was born in Pottsville on August 20, 1934. She was a daughter of the late Elmer N. and Edna (Schultz) Umberger.

Helen attended Pottsville Area High School and Empire Beauty School.

She worked as a self-employed beautician, and was of the Protestant faith.

She is preceded in death by her sisters: Joan & Ruth.

Helen is survived by three brothers, Jerry Umberger, Lavelle, Elmer Umberger, Reading, William Umberger, Reading. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be privately held at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Pottsville.
