SCI-Mahanoy Reports Death of Inmate

The Superintendent of SCI-Mahanoy is reporting the death of a inmate.

According to Superintendent Theresa A. Delbalso, on June 8 at 6:17 AM, a corrections officer conducting security rounds found inmate Arnold Mulholland unresponsive in his cell. Officers and nurses responded immediately and began CPR, which continued as the inmate was transported to the prison’s medical department.

On June 8 at 7:23 AM, Mulholland was pronounced dead by the coroner at SCI Mahanoy.

The Pennsylvania State Police will conduct an investigation, and the official cause of death will be determined by the county coroner’s office.

Mulholland, 50, was serving a life sentence for murder from Philadelphia County. He was committed on May 22, 1990.

Facility staff has notified the inmate’s next of kin.
