Jason M. Striny, 34 years of age, a resident of Barnesville, died on Friday, June 29, 2018, at home.

Born in Allentown he is survived by; his mother, Cathy (George) Russell of Frackville; sisters, Denise A. Yelito wife of Jaspn of Nesquehoning, Sonia M. Smith wife of Brian of Frackville, and Taylor M. Striny of Lancaster; nieces and nephew, Ja-Shon, Landen, Alexis; paternal grand parents, Kurt and Gertrude Striny.

Preceded in death by his father, Kurt Striny.

A car enthusiast, Jason worked for many year with Barry Steinert in his Tamaqua garage. He liked to ride dirt bikes and 4-wheel. Jason like his dad, followed the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a talented artist as well.

Nancy L. Miller, 79, of Gilbert Dr., Pine Grove, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at home.
Born on June 25, 1939 in Pine Grove, she was a daughter of the late George and Sybilla Lengle Gilbert.

She was a 1957 graduate of Pine Grove High School. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove where she helped with the Youth Group, Bible School and the Willing Workers.
Nancy worked as a sewing machine operator and Supervisor for the former Canoe Mfg. and H. L. Miller. She also worked for Jeck's as an Aide on the School Buses.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Warren "Mick' Miller and a sister Mattie Tobin.
Surviving are her son, Michael Miller, Pine Grove; two sisters, Anna Wertz and Mary and husband Gary Bohr; a brother, Charles and wife Pat Gilbert, all of Pine Grove; nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 312 S. Tulpehocken St., Pine Grove with Dr. Richard Schoenleber officiating. There will be a visitation on Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Church. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 312 S. Tulpehocken St., Pine Grove, Pa. 17963 in her memory.

Shirley A. Zimmerman, 91, of Pine Grove, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018 in the Tremont Health & Rehab Center.
Born on January 10, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Della Schaeffer Confehr.
She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove.
Shirley worked as a Seamstress for Canoe Mfg. in Pine Grove.
She enjoyed her plants and sitting on the back porch.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 65 years Warren B. Zimmerman, two sisters, Erma Tobias and Helen Breisch.
Surviving are her son Larry and wife Carol Zimmerman of Pine Grove, a daughter, Nancy and husband Warren Weiss of Lititz; a granddaughter, Elena and husband Joe Sickles of Blue Bell; two great-grandsons, Samuel and Colton Sickles.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove with Dr. Richard W. Schoenleber officiating. There will be a viewing on Friday, July 6, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove.

Emma Elizabeth Rauch, 92, known as Betty, widow of Emmett Rauch, married 63 years, longtime resident of Cressona and part-time resident of Town Bank, N.J., and Somerville, Mass., for the past 10 years, died Sunday at Mount Auburn Hospital, Cambridge, Mass.

A graduate of Tamaqua High School, she worked at Atlas Powder Co., Argo Mills, and Hill's Department Store.

She was a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Cressona.

Devoted to her family, she enjoyed the Phillies, BBC historical romances, trying food she never imagined she would eat and getting a good bargain. She will be sorely missed by her family and close friends, Lynda Wills and Chris Butler, and her surprisingly beloved dogs, Alice and Chase.

Surviving are her two daughters, Elaine Smilko, Beaverton, Ore., and Ellen, Somerville, Mass.; grandchildren, Michael Smilko and Jessica Stuckey; great-grandchildren, Nathan and Evan Smilko and Jacob and Logan Stuckey; nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home, 26 Chestnut St., Cressona. A viewing will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the funeral service in Cressona Cemetery, Cressona. Rita T. (Yetman) Davis, 80, of Pottsville passed away Sunday morning at the Meadows- York Terrace.

Born August 13, 1937, in Brooklyn, NY she was the daughter of the late Henry and Rita (Nash) Yetman.

She attained her Bachelor degree in Nursing from Bloomsburg University State College. Rita was an active member at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville and the Nurses’ Guild.

She was a school nurse for several years at St. Clair High School and later retired from Pottsville Middle School.

Rita spent time at Coney Island beach in NY as a teenager, but her adult life was spent at the Jersey beaches. She was involved in Boy Scouts Troop 615 and the recipient of the Silver Beaver Award from Hawk Mountain. Rita being an avid Penn State University football fan enjoyed going to their home games. She also enjoyed reading, camping, going to the beach, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Melville.

Rita is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, William Davis, Jr., Pottsville; sons, William Davis III husband of Elizabeth, Eagleville; John Davis and his companion Shelia, Pottsville; daughter. Marianne Fickinger wife of Matt, Williamstown. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Billy, Tim, Christopher, and Andrew Davis, Madison and Matthew Fickinger; and a brother, Lawrence Yetman, Holmdel, NJ.

Mass of Christian burial will be held 11am Thursday, July 5, 2018 at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 319 Mahantongo St, Pottsville. Family and friend may call Thursday morning from 10am until the time of mass at the church. Interment will be held in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

James D. "Beep" Eichert, 44, of Tower City passed away Monday at Hershey Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born in Myerstown, July 15, 1973, a son of Claude Eichert, Sr., Hegins and the late Irene Neidlinger Eichert.

Beep was employed in the construction field and had also worked as a coal miner.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, riding and collecting motorcycles. He was a jack of all trades, who enjoyed fixing almost anything.

In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by a daughter, Chelsea Denise Eichert, 2003.

Surviving in addition to his father are his wife, Alicia M. Raudenbush-Eichert, son, Jacob Hause, Millersburg; twin sons, Logan and Luke Eichert both at home; a granddaughter, Kerah Eichert; brothers, Claude Jr., Linglestown; Earl and Keith of Tower City; sisters, Crystal Drum, Williamstown and Tammy Bender, Lebanon. Nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Beep's life will be held Friday, July 6th at 10:00 am from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc., Tower City with Pastor Annette Shutt.
