Tuscarora State Park Beach Closed to Swimming Due to Flooding and High Bacteria Levels

The beach at Tuscarora State Park is closed until further notice due to flooding and high levels of bacteria.

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) closed the Beach at Tuscarora State Park in Schuylkill County to swimming effective Tuesday, August 14, 2018, because of flooding and possible high bacterial counts. As a precaution, the beach will remain closed until the water level descends and acceptable water sample results are received. DCNR has posted signs at the beach. The Mooring Cove is also closed for boating and will remain closed until the water level descends.

Other activities at Tuscarora State Park, such as camping, picnicking hiking and fishing are proceeding as usual.
