Electrical Issue Causes Evacuation of Saint Clair Elementary/Middle School Tuesday Morning

Electrical issues caused the Saint Clair Elementary/Middle School to evacuate Tuesday morning.


Around 10:00am, emergency personnel were dispatched to 227 South Mill Street, Saint Clair, the Saint Clair Elementary/Middle School for a fire.

Students were evacuated from the building as fire crews cleared the building of any harm.

Just after 11:00am, the school issued the following information via Facebook

This morning we had electrical issues with a transformer in a classroom. All students safely evacuated the building, and the problem has been resolved. The district is grateful to emergency personnel who assisted, including Alert/columbia fire co.Saint Clair Pa, West End Fire Co. #5, Padfield Plumbing & Heating, Electrician Bill Kennedy, and Saint Clare of Assisi Church. We appreciate the response from the Schuylkill Haven FD. Thank you to our staff for supporting students throughout the evacuation!
