Florence “Flossie” Miller, 47, of Mahanoy City, PA, passed away Tuesday, November 13th, at Lehigh Valley East Norwegian, Pottsville.
Flossie was born in Philadelphia on June 29, 1971, a daughter of Doris (Smalley) Bergmark Mahanoy City and the late Charles Bergmark.
She graduated from Marple Newtown High School class of 1989.
Flossie worked as "Holiday Help" for UPS.
She was the wife of Jeff Miller.
Flossie is also survived by a daughter, Danielle, of Mahanoy City; by three sisters, Susan Cooper, of Florida; Kathryn Jones, of Upper Darby; Suzette Hildenbrand Unionville, two brothers, Timothy Hart, of Texas; Frank Hart III, of Pottsville.
She is also survived by Nieces and nephews.
Religious Service will be at 4 pm on Saturday November 17th, at the Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Mahanoy City, PA, with Pastor Fred Crawford officiating.
Friends may call Saturday from 2 to 4 pm.
Interment will be private.

Catherine T. McGee, age 93, of New Philadelphia, PA passed away Monday, November 12th, 2018 at Providence Place in Pottsville.

Born in Valley Furnace, PA on October 15, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Katharine (Doyle) McGee.

Catherine was a graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School, Class of 1944. She worked in the accounting department for Smith, Kline, and French in Philadelphia.

Catherine was a member of the Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church in New Philadelphia and a member of Allied Artist of Schuylkill County. She loved painting, reading, and watching TV.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, being preceded in death by her parents, 7 brothers: Raymond, Richard, Albert, Fracis, Joseph, John, and James McGee, and a sister Anna McGee.

Catherine is survived by 3 nieces: Kathleen McGee, Port Carbon, PA, Patricia Bank, Galloway, NJ, and Eileen Sussina, Bayville, NJ; 2 nephews: David McGee, Tuckerton, NJ and James McGee, Saratoga, NY; and a sister-in-law Eleanor McGee;

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church in New Philadelphia at 10AM on Saturday, November 17th, with Rev. Ronald Minner officiating.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday from 9-10AM at the Holy Cross Church.

Interment will be held in the Holy Family Cemetery New Philadelphia, PA.

The Robert A Evans Jr Funeral Home 208 Pike St. Port Carbon is in charge of arrangements.

Peter Harry Chwastiak, age 97, of Pottsville, PA passed away on Saturday, November 3rd, 2018 at Luther Ridge at Seiders Hill in Pottsville.

Born in Frackville, PA on April 8, 1921, he was the son of the late Harry and Mary (Socker) Chwastiak.

Pete was a graduate of Frackville High School, Class of 1939. He then earned a BA in Business Administration from Temple University. Pete served in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant in WW II and the Korean Conflict.

Pete worked as a Store Manager for BF Goodrich Tire Company in Pottsville for 30 years until retiring and then worked for the state of Pennsylvania for 10 years.

Pete was a member of St. Michael's Russian Orthodox Church in Saint Clair and a past member of the Kiwanis Club in Pottsville.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, being preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 58 years, Stella T. (Yakimovich) Chwastiak on September 26, 2006, three brothers: Michael, John, and Serge Chwastiak, and a sister Ruth Podany.

Pete is survived by a daughter Diane M. Payne and her husband Jestyn G., Wyomissing, PA; two sons: Peter H. Chwastiak II and his wife Martina A., Orwigsburg, PA; and Mark H. Chwastiak and his wife Sheryn, Coplay, PA; two grandchildren: Jeffrey C. Payne and his wife Chloe, Batavia, IL; and Jessica K. Erck and her husband Steven, Buffalo, NY; a great-grandson Ethan C. Erck; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral Liturgy will be held at St. Michael's Russian Orthodox Church, St. Clair, PA. at 10:30AM on Saturday, November 10th, with Rev. Jeff Zias officiating.

A Panachida Service will be held at 9:45AM at the Robert A Evans Jr Funeral Home 208 Pike St., Port Carbon.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Saturday morning from 8:15-9:45 AM at the Funeral Home.

Mausoleum Entombment will be held at the Schuylkill Memorial Park Cemetery in Schuylkill Haven.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's Russian Orthodox Church, 106 North Morris Street, Saint Clair, PA 17970.

Edward D. "Fred" Hobbs, age 67, of Pottsville, PA passed away Sunday, November 4th, 2018 at his home.

Born in Pottsville, PA on June 23, 1951, he was the beloved son of the late Edward "Ned" and Anne Christian “Christie” (Devers) Hobbs.

Fred loved to go hunting, going to the races, going on vacations, especially to the beach, riding his Harley, and visiting the mountains and the High Knob Inn.

Fred was the loving cousin of Patrick Hobbs, Cynthia (Hobbs) McCarty, Vicki Keating, and the late Robin Hobbs, ,a devoted great uncle to Tierne Hobbs, a longtime friend of Deb Jenkins and also survived by many loving relatives and friends.

A Religious Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, 208 Pike St. Port Carbon at 7PM on Thursday, November 8th, with Deacon Jack Quirk officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday evening from 5:30-7PM at the Funeral Home.

Interment will be held private at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in Pottsville.

Janet Marie Brown, 68, of Hometown, PA and formerly of Tresckow, PA died on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at home. 

She was the wife of Richard W. Brown to whom she was married for 48 years. Born in Hazleton, PA on April 25, 1950, Janet was a daughter of the late John R. and Anna (nee Watro) Shickora. 

She attended West Hazleton High School and over the years worked for Altadis, McAdoo, PA; the Hershey Company, Hazleton, PA; and ICI, Reynolds, PA. Janet was of the Catholic faith. An avid quilter, she also loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. Janet was always ready to be Santa’s helper. She enjoyed playing bingo and traveling to the casinos but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her wonderful grandchildren. 

In addition to her husband, Janet is survived by sons, William John Brown of Bethlehem, PA, Richard W. Brown, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Montclair, NJ, and David Lee Brown and his wife Krystal of Hometown; grandchildren, Olivia Brown, Janna Brown, Alexander Brown, Aidan Brown, and Sophie Brown; brother, Francis Shickora and his wife Bernadetta of Tresckow; sisters, Cecelia Boyle and her husband, James of Tresckow and Susan Lazur of Hershey, PA; sister-in-law, Emma Vlcek of Tamaqua, PA; and numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces. 

She was predeceased by a brother, John Shickora. 

Services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 17 at the Zizlemann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad St., Tamaqua. Interment in Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown will follow the services. Call 6-8 PM on Friday and 10-11 AM on Saturday at the funeral home.

Ina P. Warner, 70, of Hilltop Rd. Schuylkill Haven, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at home.
Born on July 30, 1948 in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Pearl Nagle Herring.
She was a 1966 graduate of Pine Grove High School and a 1972 graduate of Shippensburg University.
Ina was a teacher for the Pine Grove Area School District. Recently, she was employed at Berger's Market, Pine Grove as a cashier
She was a member of Hetzel's United Church of Christ, Pine Grove and the Ladies Auxiliary at Bethany Childrens Home.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 41 years, Terry Lee Warner on March 13, 2014
Surviving are three daughters, Hannah Kreiser of Pine Grove, Leah Warner of S. Williamsport, Amelia Warner of Dillsburg; four grandchildren, Galen, Althea, Conrad and Preston; sister Karen Herring, brother Karl and wife Sandy Herring, both of Pine Grove.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Hetzel's United Church of Christ, 261 Hetzel's Church Rd., Pine Grove with Pastor Jill Bierwirth officiating. There will be a viewing on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the Church. Interment will follow in Hetzel's Cemetery, Pine Grove.

Milo Charlie Unger Costa, infant son of Adam Costa and Karen Unger of Pine Grove went to sleep during a beautiful sunset on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Penn State Childrens Hospital, Hershey.
He was born on November 2, 2018 and was surrounded by an endless amount of love until his passing.
Preceding him in death were his great grandparents, Warren and Lorraine Boyer, Phoebe and Soloman Unger, Ralph and Helen Scheib, and Joe Costa.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are the best big brothers anyone could wish for, Alexander Costa (9) and Dylan Unger (5); grandparents Rick and Janet Costa of Hegins, Fred Unger and Dawn Zimmerman, both of Pine Grove; great grandmother Dorthea Haidle of Allentown; aunts, uncles, cousins and many family and friends that provided their love and support.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 4:00 P.M. at the Pine Grove Community Church, with Pastor Bob Kensinger officiating. There will be a visitation on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Church.
