Mr. Edward G. Goshaney, age 95, of Morea, died Tuesday morning at Schuylkill Center in Pottsville. Born in New Boston he was the son of the late Michael J. & Maria (Hrametz) Goshaney. He was a 1941 graduate of Mahanoy Township High School. He was an Army veteran of WWII and was in the 2nd wave of the invasion of Normandy Beach on D Day. He worked for and retired from General Motors and was a member of St. Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City. He was preceded in death by a sister Anne and brothers John, Michael and George. The last member of his immediate family he is survived by nieces Mary Jane and Karen Goshaney, Ann Marie Gallagher and a nephew Mick Goshaney

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by the Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher on Friday morning at 11 AM from St. Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City. Interment with military honors will follow in Assumption BVM Cemetery in Mahanoy Township. Friends may call at the church on Friday morning beginning at 10 AM until time of Mass. David D. Edmond John Rozew, Jr., 57, of Shenandoah, passed away Sunday at his residence.

Born in Shenandoah, August 16, 1961, he was a son of the late Edmond J. Rozew Sr. and Margaret “Peggy” (Palmer) Rozew.

He had worked as a pressman for the former Shenandoah Evening Herald newspaper.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were three brothers.

Surviving are his wife, the former Jill Coleman; two sons, Ryan Rozew and his wife, Kelly, and Connor Rozew; one daughter, Jenny Kroh and her husband, Michael, and one granddaughter, Alivia Kroh, all of Shenandoah; one brother, Michael “Mickey” Rozew and his wife, Maria, Houston, Texas; cousins.

Religious services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. Monsignor Myron Grabowsky will officiate. A visitation will be held from 8 until 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Margaret Mary Andescavage, 102 of Pottsville, a resident of Providence for 10 years prior to residing at Schuylkill Center, died Sunday night at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

She was born December 21, 1915 in Baltimore MD, a daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Meko Hurst.

Margaret moved to Pottsville at the age of 10 and attended Pottsville Schools.

Margaret was married to Albert Andescavage for 57 years before his death in February, 2003.

Before her marriage, Margaret was employed as an inspector at the former Philips & Jones Shirt Factory, and was a saleswoman at the former Grace Shop both of Pottsville Prior to retiring.

She was an active member of Trinity United Church of Christ Pottsville, a former member of the Kiwanis and Elk Auxiliaries and Pottsville Seniors. Margaret volunteer for 25 years at ManorCare Health Services where she received the volunteer of the year award, and also volunteered Providence Place.

In addition to her husband, Margaret was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Walter and Edward Hurst; a sister, Charlotte Kilgore; a niece, Jean Dilcher. Surviving are her sister-in-law Rose Marie Hurst, Pottsville; 5 nieces and nephews, Lois Lowthert, Marian Miller, Edward W. Hurst and his wife Gayle, Kenneth Hurst, and Edward R. Hurst; also great nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Wednesday at 11AM from James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville with Pastor Greg Hafer officiating. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 10AM until the time of services at the funeral home. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to Trinity United Church of Christ 316 W. Market St., Pottsville PA, 17901. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven.
