Florence Misunas, 95, of Girardville, PA passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA.

Born in Mahanoy City, PA, February 21,1923 the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Zukowski. Florence worked in the garment industry until her retirement in 1983. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed volunteering with fundraising for the Girard Hose Company where she helped prepare food for fundraising events for over 40 years. She attended church at St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Girardville.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband Albert Misunas and a son Albert Misunas. Also preceding her in death were 3 brothers: Jack Narbutitus, Louis Narbutitus, and Alphonsus Narbutitus; 3 sisters: Julia Anyzek, Beatrice Faust, and Dorothy Bacha; and 2 nephews: Edmund Anyzek and William Faust.
She is survived by a son, George Misunas and his wife, Joy; daughter-in-law, Deb Misunas and her fiance Ed Hayes; granddaughter, Melissa Lyden and her husband Jason; grandson, George Misunas Jr. and his wife Katie; great grandson, Hunter Misunas; great granddaughter, Amelia Lyden; goddaugher and niece, Maryann Lamarra. Nieces and nephews. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Vincent DePaul Worship Center, Girardville with Rev. Paul Rothermel officiating. 

Interment in St. Vincent's Cemetery, Frackville. 

Viewing will be from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM at the church on Wednesday. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Loretta Grubbs, age 82, of Schoentown, PA passed away Wednesday, January 2nd, 2019 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Schuylkill, East in Pottsville.
Born in Schoentown, PA on November 24, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Alberta (Manalis) Popnick and her step-father William Rudy.
Loretta was a graduate of Pottsville High School, Class of 1954. After graduation, Loretta was active in the US Air force from 1954 till 1958. She then worked at the former Rest Haven Nursing Home in Schuylkill Haven for over 20 years. Loretta was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in St. Clair and a member of the former St. Casimir Roman Catholic Church, where she always volunteered with the pierogie sales. Loretta loved all babies, especially all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Millard E. Grubbs on October 8, 2015.
Loretta is survived by three daughters: Loreen Garrity and her husband Shawn, Schoentown, Romona Dietz and her husband Rick, Schuylkill Haven, and Renelyn Schroeder and her husband Mark, Maryland; two sons: Tae Grubbs, California and Rudy Grubbs and his fiance" Ruby, Pottsville; seven grandchildren: Jessica Warner, Nevada; Janine Garrity, Schoentown, Brandy, Sidney, and Rudy Grubbs, St. Clair, and Diane and Joanna Nguyen, California; six great-grandchildren: Pierce, Jade, and Jewel Warner, Nevada, Logan and Liam Garrity, Schoentown, and Olivia Nguyen, California; and a sister Leona Barto, Schoentown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in St. Clair at 12noon on Tuesday, January 8th, with Msgr William Glosser officiating.
Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing Tuesday morning from 10am-12noon at the Church.
Interment with Military Honors will be held in the St. Casimir's Cemetery in Port Carbon.
