Patriciann Dale Miller, age 77 of Gordon, Pennsylvania, passed away Monday, January 14th, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, surrounded by members of her loving family.

Born on September 12th, 1941 in Butler Township, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Leon Stabler and Almeda Umholtz Stabler.
Pat went on to be a very social gal who made everyone happy with her sweet smile and jokes. She worked at Rickards Dairy in Gordon and after graduating from Butler Township High School, she spent time working as a secretary in Harrisburg. After marrying her best friend, the late Raymond Miller, she lived in Palmyra, PA before moving back to Ashland and eventually, Gordon.

Pat was a long time member of the Citizens Fire Company in Gordon for 40 years. There she enjoyed playing cards with her husband, Raymond, and friends. Pat loved spending time with her family. Family meant everything to Pat and she especially adored when they were gathered around the table catching up, playing cards, or enjoying a great meal. Her selflessness and caring attitude were something inspiring to those who she surrounded. Pat was someone who could brighten your day with just a few words. She had a very outgoing personality that brought joy to others. Pat loved watching crime shows and HGTV. She also enjoyed looking after Raymond’s 50 cats.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Miller, her brothers Warren and Larry Stabler, and her sister Dawn Sauers.

She is survived by her three siblings Marion Stabler Raff, Lynn Dietrick Stabler, and Dewey Stabler. She is also survived by five children and their families. Her sons Raymond L. Miller and his wife, Janene Miller, Pasadena, Md., and Scott Miller and his wife, Diane Miller, Lavelle; her daughters, Cathy Canfield, Ashland, Susie Yashin and her husband, Steve Yashin, Ashland, and Jan Miller, Harrisburg. She also has five granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 23, 2018 at the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland with Susan Hocking C.S.M officiating. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, January 22 and 10:00-11:00 AM Wednesday, January 23 at the funeral home. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

Joseph F. McCoy beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed peacefully January 16, 2019 at Lehigh Valley East Hospital Pottsville, Pa. He was born July 22, 1927 in Raven Run, Pa, and was the husband of Helen McCoy (Reilly) for 64 years and the son of the late Joseph and Mary McCoy.

He was a graduate of West Mahony Township High School and entered the United States Army in 1946 and was honorably discharged in 1947. He was employed by State Equipment Company many years retiring in 1992.

He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Ashland, Pa, Ashland Elks, Knights of Columbus and Operating Engineers Local #542.

In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by daughters Mary Wood (Jack) Catasauqua, Pa, Ellen Sutjak (Bob) Slatington, Pa and Sheila Zeplin, Cary N.C., Grandchildren Shawn Zeplin, (Jennifer), Keith Zeplin (Shannon), Kathleen Eckinger (George), Kelly Martinelli (Kyle), Robert Sutjak (Amanda), Matthew Sutjak (Caitlin), Kevin Sutjak. Great Grandchildern Carson, Annabelle, Hannah, Adeline, Everly, Luca. Also survived by sisters Peggy Carroll (Charlie) Northumberland, Pa, Sally Egan (Paul) New Philadelphia, Pa, Sister in law Diane McCoy Florida. Many brother and sister in laws and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son in law Rod Zeplin, brothers Jack McCoy and Jim McCoy, sisters Annabelle Skonecki, Mary Coughlin and Eileen Gownley.

Richard F. “ Big Rich “ Hopkins, 66, Frackville, passed away peacefully Tuesday at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, with his family at his side.

Born in Pottsville he was a son of the late William “Sarge” Hopkins and Grace Snyder. He had been employed as a correction officer at SCI Mahanoy until his retirement after 25 years of service. He had been a past president of the local PSCOA union while at the prison.

He was a Viet Nam veteran of the US Navy, submarine service, having served on the USS Pargo, Dace and Sturgeon based out of New London CT. He was a member and Past Exalted Ruler of Frackville Elks Lodge # 1533, Frackville American Legion Post # 398, Frackville Masonic Lodge # 737 F&AM , Park Crest Fish and Game Club. Rich was an avid hunter and golfer winning the Little Brown Jug trophy 3 separate times. Later in life his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers; William Bill Hopkins and Jamie Reedy.

Rich is survived by his wife Debra Swingle McCormick, his daughter Robin Hopkins and her domestic partner Paul Cugusi, Frackville, his son Bob and his wife Erin McCormick, Schuylkill Haven, two brothers; William ( Shirley) Hopkins, Summit Station and Melvin ( Margaret ) Reedy, Pottsville, two sisters; Holly Hopkins, Frackville and Nancy wife of Jim McNulty, Schuylkill Haven, his beloved grandchildren: Isabella, Giovanni and Quaid, also by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday evening at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville, with Rev. Jack Murray officiating. A viewing will be held on Friday from 5p.m. until time of service. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

Hilda Badger, mother, sister, nanny, of North Manheim Twp. formerly of New Ringgold, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill Campus East, Pottsville with her family by her side at the age of 80.

Born Monday, December 19, 1938 in Easton, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Stephen, and Mary (Schuck) Oswald, Hilda was also predeceased by her husband of forty-three years, Donald C. Badger on April 8, 2001; daughter and grand daughter, Cindy A. and Jennifer Ann Badger on March 13, 1986; sisters, Mary Hess, Anna Lerch; brothers, John, Stephen, Frank, and Joseph Oswald.

Surviving are daughters, Nancy L. Sergent wife of Brent of Nazareth, Linda M. Badger of Pottsville, Sandra D. Funk wife of John of New Ringgold, Lorie L. Weaver wife of William of Tamaqua; brother, Louis Oswald and his wife Shirley of Bangor; sister, Theresa Kohler of Bethlehem; grand children, Brent, Kyle, Eric, Cole, Jodi, Dr. Clint; great grand children, Joshua, Nicholas, Aidan, Greyson; adored neighbors and "grandsons of the heart", Nathan and Noah.

Hilda was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church of New Ringgold. Hilda enjoyed the company of her dogs, and was an avid reader of Historic Romance Novels.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3 o'clock PM on Friday January 18, 2019 from Friedens Lutheran Church located at 525 Church Road, New Ringgold, Pennsylvania 17960, Rev. Kenneth T. Melber to officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on the afternoon of the service in church.

Interment will be in Friedens Lutheran Church Cemetery, New Ringgold, Pennsylvania,

Marian A Holland, age 78, of Hegins, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Green Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pitman.

She was born on Thursday, March 28, 1940, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Arthur E Grose and the late Elsie Miller Grose.

Marian was a 1958 graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School.

She was first employed at the former Philmark Mfg, Valley View and than retired from Hegins Precision Division of Penn Reel, Hegins.

Marian enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by a daughter, Michele L Holland.

She is survived by three sons, Steve N Holland and his wife Trina of Hegins, Scott D Holland and his wife Tamie of Millsboro, DE, and Eric A Geist of Hegins; her companion Arnold W Geist of Hegins; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; a brother, Ronnie Grose of Reading; a sister, Dolores Scheib of Hegins; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be made in St. John's Cemetery, Hegins.

Hilda Esther Boyer Yeager, 95, passed away Monday, January 14th, at Towne Centre, a StoneRidge Retirement Living Community, Myerstown, PA, where she had been a current resident. Previously, she resided at Schoolyard Square, Pine Grove, since 2015.

Hilda lived most of her life in the Lewistown Valley. She was born to Claude Boyer & Helen (Fegley) Burkheiser Boyer, in their farm house in Lewistown Valley on December 31, 1923.

She was the widow of Lloyd H. Yeager, who passed away in 2008.

In addition to her parents and husband, Hilda is also preceded in death by her half brothers: Charles Boyer, & Paul Burkheiser, half sister, Ruth Boyer Billman, daughter-in-law, Sandra Chapin Yeager, & great-granddaughter, Melynda Alexis Lashley.

Hidla was a graduate of Tamaqua High School, Class of 1941.

She had worked at Rohrer Knitting Mill, Orwigsburg, Guers Dairy, and Koch's Turkey Farms.

Hilda was a member of Bethesda Evangelical Congregational Church of Reedsville, Schuylkill Haven, PA, where she served as Mission Leader, and other roles for many years.

She was also a member of Railroad Evangelistic Association.

Hilda is survived by a son, Rev. Lloyd S. Yeager & his wife, Cynthia, grandchildren: Samuel H. Yeager, Daniel A. Yeager & his wife, Jennifer, & Lisa S. Lashley & her husband, Dale, and great-grandchildren: Alexis Lashley, Jordan Lashley, Skylar Yeager, & Riley Yeager.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be conducted at Bethesda Evangelical Congregational Church of Reedsville, Schuylkill Haven, at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 21st.

A viewing will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.

Interment will immediately follow the service at Reedsville Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven.

Paul D. Ebert, Sr., 86, of Pottsville, passed away Monday, January 14th, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Schuylkill, E. Norwegian St., Pottsville.

Born in Pottsville on November 16, 1932, he was a son of the late Albert F. & Mamie P. (Neidlinger) Ebert.

Paul is now finally reunited with the love of his life, Joyce I. (Voydik) Ebert, who he affectionately referred to as his "old lady".

He was a graduate of Pottsville High School and had proudly served in the U. S. Army.

Paul worked as a recapper at Howell's Tire Service.He was later employed by the Pottsville Republican & Herald as a recycler.

Paul was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville.

He was also a member of the Cressona VFW, and a life member of the Goodwill Fire Company, Cressona, and Six County Firemen's Association.

He was an avid fan of Pottsville Crimson Tide, Eagles, and Penn State football.

Paul is survived by two daughters: Deborah Ebert, of Pottsville; Paula, wife ofRobert Ryan, of Shenandoah; two sons Paul D., husband ofVirginia Ebert, of Pottsville; David, husband ofLinda Ebert, of Minersville, grandchildren: Paul Ebert III, Kaylee, Mariah, & Mallory Ebert, Briana Ryan, & Melissa Schultz, wife of Matt; great-grandson, Myles Schultz; a step-brother, Guy Ebert, Sr., of Cumbola, and numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Paul is also preceded in death by brothers: Albert, Elmer, and William; sisters: Ada Smith, and Gertrude Reifsnyder; granddaughter: Kandas, and his beloved dog, Jack.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be conducted at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 18th.

A viewing will be held Thursday, January 17th from 5-7 PM at the church.

An additional time for viewing will be held Friday from 9:00-10:15 AM at the church.

Interment will military honors will immediately follow the funeral service at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

Elizabeth Kuchinsky, 94, formerly of St. Clair, passed away Monday, January 14, 2019 at Meadow View Nursing Home, Northfield NJ.

Born in St. Clair, February 1, 1924, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary (Seventko) Paulin.

Elizabeth was a member of St. Michael’s Orthodox Church, St. Clair.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Kuchinsky, two sisters Catherine Kachel and Nancy Hinderliter.

Surviving are a son William R. Kuchinsky and his wife JoAnne of Brigantine, NJ,; daughter Mary Ann Hagy and her husband Richard of Manuee, OH; 3 Grandchildren, Leah Kuchinsky, Racael Hagy
and William Kuchinsky Jr, 4 Great Grandchildren.

Margaret M. Dougherty, 100, Girardville, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning at Providence Place, Pottsville.

Born in Connerton, she was a daughter of the late Leo and Hazel Kohler Franks.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edward T. Dougherty; brothers and sisters.

Margaret is survived by her two daughters: Anne Lorady, Girardville, Pegi and her husband David Culbreth, Colorado; her two sons: Dennis and his wife Judy Dougherty, Bethlehem, William and his wife Theresa Dougherty, Colorado; her brother Leo Franks; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Mary A. Stanchick, 88, of Minersville, passed away Monday morning at Schuylkill Center.

Born in New Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Alice Wolfe Shoener. She was a 1948 graduate of Pottsville High School; and worked for the former Ost & Ost Auto Parts, Pottsville before retiring.

She was a member of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church, Minersville, where she was a member of the St. Francis Choir and the Women’s Sodality.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 60 years, John Stanchick, in 2014; three siblings, John Shoener, Anna Shappell and Roberta Sumoski.

Surviving are her son, David Stanchick (Cathy), Norwegian Township; two grandsons, Kyle Carlson, Pittsburgh, and Matthew Carlson, Minersville; three great grandchildren, Wyatt, Wesley and Adeline, Minersville; a brother, Earl “Tut” Shoener, Pottsville; nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury Street, Minersville, on Thursday from 6:00 P.M. and on Friday from 6:00 A.M. until the time of service at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Mount Peace Cemetery.
