Hudson Richard Roehl was born January 18th, 2019 and passed away peacefully on February 15th in the arms of his mommy and daddy at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Hudson fought very hard against a congenital heart defect.

While his stay on earth was short, Hudson was loved so deeply by those who were fortunate enough to meet him and those who were not. His impact on everyone has been remarkable and his memory will be carried on.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Mary Margaret “Mag” Roehl.

Hudson is survived by his mother and father, Lauren & Rich Roehl; two siblings, Isobel & Lincoln; maternal Nannie and Pop-pop, Donna and Gary Purcell; paternal Grandpa and grandmother, Rick & Ellie Roehl; aunt, Jackie Purcell; maternal great grandmother, Rita Purcell; uncle Dave & aunt Jen Roehl; cousins, Abbey, Mike and Molly. He is also survived by numerous great aunts, uncles and cousins.

Ronald H. Goodman, 86, of Brier City, passed away Thursday evening at his home surrounded by his family.

Born in Port Carbon, he was the son of the late Harry and Ann Yusick Goodman.

He was a graduate of the former Port Carbon Soldier’s Memorial High School. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Minersville. He was a member of the Church Council, was an Adult Sunday School Teacher and a Lay Pastor. He worked at the former A&P Grocery store, Guer’s Dairy, Guer’s Trucking and retired from the Pottsville Area School District .He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Gloria K. Tropp; 3 sons, Ronald D. Goodman and his wife Michelle, Robert Goodman and his wife Tina and Richard Goodman and his wife Patricia, all of Brier City; also 7 grandchildren, Ryan, Zachary, Rebecca, Allisyn, Alyssa, Kaitlyn and Nicholas.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 11AM in Zion Lutheran Church, 4th and Lewis Sts., Minersville. Rev. Reginald Leibensberger will officiate. Relative and friends can call at the Church on Tuesday from 9 AM until the time of the service. Private interment at the convenience of the family will be in Mt. Peace Cemetery, Minersville. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer remembrances of Ronald be in the form of contributions to the Zion Lutheran Church. Contributions will be accepted by the funeral home.
