Three Displaced After Fire Destroys Home in Porter Township Friday Night

A family of three is displaced after a fire destroyed their home Friday night in Porter Township.

Just before 11:00pm, Friday, emergency personnel were dispatched to 335 West Grand Avenue, in Sheridan, Porter Township, near Tower City, for a working structure fire.

Fire crews arrived and found the home fully involved in fire.  Crews dealt with water issues due to the extreme cold prompting an alert to a tanker task force.

The home was a complete loss and as of Saturday evening, the cause of the fire was listed as "undetermined".

At the time of the fire, homeowner Brenda Hoover, her daughter Taylor, 27, and 14 year old son were not home.  A dog and cat died in the fire.

The American Red Cross is assisting the family.
