Red Cross Honors Schuylkill County Heroes at Annual Breakfast

On Tuesday, June 5th, The Tri County Chapter of the American Red Cross honored 3 people in Schuylkill County who go above and beyond to serve their community.

The 3rd Annual Red Cross Schuylkill County Heroes Breakfast took place at the Schuylkill County Country Club, and was sponsored by Hidden River Credit Union, M&T Bank and Mountainview Restoration.

2019 HEROES AWARD WINNERS 

Jeffrey Blanchek – 2019 Fire Safety Award Jeffrey has installed countless smoke alarms with the Red Cross and on his own alongside the fire department. In addition, Jeffrey hosts excellent fire prevention open houses, library skits, and promotes fire safety at the annual fall festival in Ringtown. Jeffrey’s dedication to his community and fire department is outstanding. 

Patricia (Patty) Daley – 2019 Community Impact Hero Award Patty lives and breathes the Red Cross mission. She has been the face of Red Cross Disaster Response in Schuylkill County for years, assisting clients in their times of greatness need. A true humanitarian, Patty’s current passion is making homes safer by providing disaster education and installing free smoke alarms through the Red Cross’s Home Fire Campaign. Working hand-in-hand with local fire departments and volunteers, Patty’s leadership resulted in the installation of 2,262 alarms this year. 

Jennifer Lettich-Snyder – 2019 Animal Rescue Hero Award Jennifer is currently the head CVT at Anthracite Animal Clinic in addition to working Sunbury Animal Hospital. Jennifer goes above and beyond every single day to advocate for animals, easing the worries of both clients and her animal patients. She assists in search and rescue efforts throughout the area with her canine Charlotte, and has gained invaluable knowledge through certifications to help the community in times of need. Jennifer also volunteers for her local fire department while continuing her education.
