Barbara A. Vacula, 70 years of age of Owl Creek Road, Tamaqua, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2019, at home in the care of her family.

Born Tuesday, March 8, 1949 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Robert O., and Anna M. (Ulshafer) Brode. Barb, was also predeceased by; husband, William R. "Rico" Vacula; brother, Barry J. Brode, Sr. and his wife Barbara.

Surviving are; daughter, Robin L. Bowman of Tamaqua; son, Jamie S. Ketchledge and his fiancee Jennifer Gogal of Tamaqua; grand children, William J. Bowman III, Brittany L. Bowman, Jamie Ketchledge; step sister, Judith Ansbach; step son, William R. Vacula, Jr. and his wife Jodi. Nieces and nephews also survive Barbara.

A graduate of Tamaqua High School, Barbara had worked for the former Atlas Powder Co., The White Diner, and for J.E. Morgan Knitting. Barb loved the company of her animals.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. of 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252. (570) 668-2550

A Funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock A.M. on Tuesday July 30, 2019 from the funeral home. Friends may call from 9:30 A.M. until time of services.

Interment will be in Sky View Memorial Park, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.

Ruby Lorraine Lazarchick, 69, of Tamaqua, PA died on Thursday, July 25, 2019 in Coaldale, PA. Born on August 13, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Louella (nee Kemmerer) Gerber. Prior to her retirement, Ruby worked for the former Morgan Knitting Mills and subsequently Hanes. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Tamaqua. A very independent woman, there wasn’t anything Ruby couldn’t do. She was a great cook, loved to sew, worked in her garden, decorated for the holidays, enjoyed the music of Elvis, and enjoyed day trips with her sister-in-law, Nancy Gerber; but her greatest joy was being Nana to her two grandchildren, Sam and Spencer. Ruby is survived by daughter, Sherri Gerber of Tamaqua; son, Anthony “AJ” Yost of Tamaqua; grandchildren, Sam Fox and Spencer Gerber; sister, Darlene Wishousky; brother, Carl Gerber; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Arthur Gerber, Mel Gerber, and Donald Gerber and sisters, Marie Leiby, Marlene Steigerwalt, and Shirl Miller. Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, August 2 at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua. Interment in Sky View Memorial Park will follow the services.
