Richard S Rothermel, 67, of Klingerstown, passed away Wednesday, September 4th, at Mountain View Health and Rehab Center, Coal Township.

Richard was born in Pottsville, PA on June 1, 1952, a son of Nancy (Hoffman) Rothermel of Klingerstown and the late and Norman Richard "Dick" Rothermel.

Rich graduated from the Tri-Valley High School and was employed at various coal companies and was part owner of R. S. & W Coal Company.

He was a member of Salem Church of Rough and Ready.
Rich was also a former member of the Valley View Gun Club and the Erdman Sportsman's Association, and the Spruce Spring Hunting Camp.

He was a will be remembered as a hard worker who enjoyed his hunting trips out west and telling hunting stories.

Richard is survived by his wife of 28 years Judy (Fetterolf) Rothermel;a daughter, Angela, wife of Douglas Lucas, of Hegins; two sons Richard S., Jr. husband of Connie of Reading and Steve Rothermel, of Klingerstown ; two step daughters, Ruth Audet and Susan Bensinger; one step son, Jack "Check" Bensinger; three grandchildren Tiffany, Christine and Eli; 4 step grandchild Shawna; Sara, Katie and Wayne; one step great grandson Hunter; 6 siblings, Kenneth Rothermel, Randy Rothermel, Gail Laudenslager, Cathy Herb, Mike Rothermel, and Tim Rothermel as well as nieces and nephews.

Pearl L. Whetstone, 90, of Walker Township, PA died on Saturday, September 7, 2019, in Bethlehem, PA. She was the wife of the late Harry J. Whetstone who died in 1979. 

Born on September 21, 1928, Pearl was the daughter of the late William and Saddie (nee Brobst) Bachert. A 1946 graduate of Tamaqua High School, she enjoyed playing pinochle with all her friends. Pearl was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tamaqua; a member of the New England Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary for which she served as president for many years; and a former board member of the Tamaqua Meals on Wheels program in which she had been very active. 

Pearl is survived by sons, Gary L. Whetstone of Walker Township and Bruce D. Whetstone and his wife Linda of Walker Township; daughter, Janet L. McCann of Walker Township; grandchildren, Jacqueline DuClos of Los Angeles, CA, Jeff Whetstone and his wife Kate of East Greenville, PA, Jillian Capik and her husband Jereme of Harrisburg, PA, Erik McCann of LeClaire, Iowa, and Corey McCann of Tamaqua, PA; great grandchildren, Bianca Swanepoel, Michael Whetstone, and Mary Whetstone; brother, Donald Bachert and his wife Crystal of Temple, PA; and several nephews and nieces. 

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, September 11 at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home with The Rev. Phyllis Wolford officiating. Interment in Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown, PA will follow the services.

Patricia Elizabeth Wolff, 82, of St. Clair, died Friday, September 6, 2019 at Orwigsburg Center.

Born in Pottsville, January 4, 1937, she was a daughter of John and Emily (Tiley) Stiles.

She was a graduate of Soldiers Memorial High School, Port Carbon.

She was retired having worked many years as a Machine Operator at Jetson Direct Mail Services Inc., Hamburg, Pa.

Patsy was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, St. Clair, Order of the Eastern Star Kalmia Chapter #261 and Cressona Chapter #367.

Surviving are her husband of 63 years George W. Wolff III; a daughter Kim Kaufman and her husband Joerd of Schuylkill Haven; 2 sons George Wolff IV and his wife Jocelyn of Wilmington, DE; Eric Wolff and his wife Shannon of St. Clair; Grandchildren George Wolff V, Jacqueline Wolff, Emily Wolff; Alexander Wolff, Kenneth Wolff, Erica Freedman, and Hannah Weikel; Great grandchildren Cayden, George VI, and Gabriel Wolff, Ella, Andrew, and Isadora Freedman, Annen, and May Weikel; a brother John Stiles of West West Terrace; a sister Diane Tobias of Orwigsburg; Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 10, 2019 from Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home 110 N. Second St. Saint Clair, PA 17970 with Rev. Kerry Smart officiating. . Friends may call from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Monday and 9:00 AM-10:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John UCC Memorial Fund, 45 S. Front St. St. Clair, PA 17970. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, St. Clair.
