Port Carbon Councilman Resigns at September Meeting

Councilman Michael Quercia, a borough council member in Port Carbon, announced his resignation at the September meeting

Quercia read the following letter to council during their monthly meeting held on September 10th, 2019.

I would like to thank the citizens of Port Carbon for electing me to serve the Borough for the past ten years. It was an Honor and Privilege to serve you.

As the President of Council, I am very frustrated to find unauthorized spending during a monetary freeze, the spending of tax payers money without approval from Council and without my knowledge. I'm very disappointed of the actions taken by some of the Council members. Therefore, I hereby tender my resignation effective immediately.

Sincerely,
Michael Quercia
