Whalen E Wenrich, Sr, age 87, of Spring Glen, passed away Monday, October 7, 2019 at his residence.

He was born on Sunday, July 10, 1932, in Hubley Twp, a son of the late Ellis Wenrich and the late Mary Bowman Wenrich.

He was a self employed coal miner and also was a truck driver for Harvey Umholtz and AA Shade, prior to his retirement.

He was a member of the Gratz VFW, Gratz Fire Company, and the Valley View Gun Club.

Whalen enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, camping, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; by two sons David E Wenrich and Randy E Wenrich; a daughter in law, Vicki Wenrich; two brothers Charles Wenrich and Robert Wenrich; an infant brother; and by two sisters, M Annabelle Wenrich and Nancy Laudenslager.

He is survived by his wife Anna M Kissinger Wenrich, to whom he was married for 67 years.

He is also survived by three sons, Richard L Wenrich and his wife Tammy of Sacramento, Whalen E Wenrich, Jr of Herndon, and Lynn L Wenrich and his wife Tammy of Valley View; two daughters, Lori A Belack and her husband Raymond of Gratz and Tammy S Wenrich of Lykens; seventeen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no services at this time.

Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.

Patricia A. Selbi , 71, formerly of Mahanoy City, died Saturday Oct. 5, 2019 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest, Allentown,Pa.

Born in Mahanoy City, December 12, 1947, She was a daughter of the late Ramon and Anna (Miskar) Selbi.

She was preceded in death by son Ramon Selbi; 4 brothers Joseph Selbi, Michael Selbi, John Selbi, Ramon Selbi; 2 sisters Dolores Dziadosz and Rosalie Selbi.

Surviving are daughter Anna Selbi and her Fiance Jonathan Fowler of Mahanoy City; brother Thomas Selbi of Shenandoah; 2 grandchildren, Alexis Brennan, Ashley Heidel and a great-granddaughter Eva Updegrave.

Service’s will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday from Nice- Hart Funeral Home, Inc, 9 North Lehigh Avenue Frackville. Friends may call from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

John J. Zebraitis, 70, of Catawissa, Pa passed away on Thursday, October 3rd in Oswego, NY.

Born in Shenandoah, he was the son of the late Adolph & Adele “Yuska” Zebraitis and was a veteran of the US Air Force.

At the request of the family, no services will be scheduled.

Kay L. Fertig, 78, of Ashland, PA passed away Sunday, October 6, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA.

Born October 27, 1940 in Ashland the daughter of the late Robert and Laura (Strobel) Mather.
She was the most selfless, giving, unconditionally loving woman there was. She was an amazing cook and baker and didn't meet a person she didn't want to love and feed.

Along with her parents, preceding Kay in death was her husband of 34 years: Gene R. Fertig. Daughter: Tammy A. Fertig, 2001. Brothers and sister: Lamar Mather, Lewis Mather, and Shirley Rush.

Surviving are five children: Patty wife of Mike Valeno of Ashland; Gene Fertig of Ashland; Laurie Grose of Ashland; Carl Fertig and partner Candi of Ashland; and Kay Ann wife of Kevin Kestler of New Ringgold. Four granddaughters which she raised as her own: Randi Klemintovich and partner Jesse of Lavelle; Danielle Minalda and partner Dan of Barnsville; Hannah Valeno of Ashland; and Lenore Valeno of Ashland. Brother: Nyle Reynolds of Millerstown. Sister: Sandy Shutt of Elizabethtown. 22 Grandchildren. 35 Great grandchildren. 2 Great-great grandchildren. Long-time friend Al Leibig and family.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, October 11, 2019 at First United Methodist Presbyterian Church, Ashland with Rev. Dr. David Heberling officiating. Interment in Sunnyside Cemetery, Lavelle. Visitation 9:00-11:00 AM Friday, October 11 at the church.

Dolores Corinchock, 89, a longtime resident of the Hometown section of Tamaqua, passed away peacefully on Sun., Oct. 6, 2019, at the Fritzingertown Senior Living Community in Drums, Luzerne County.

Dolores was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, and mother. She was born on June 1, 1930, in Morea (Brooklyn), Schuylkill County, daughter of the late Casimir and Eva (Wengryn) Sagan. Widow of Michael "Harmonica Mike" Corinchock to whom she was married for 68 years. She was also predeceased by brothers, Henry, John, and Paul Sagan.

Dolores, graduated from the former Mahanoy Township High School and derived much happiness caring for her family and home.

She is survived by sons Michael J. (Judy A. Rhoades) of Morea and Paul G. (Liz O’Malley) of Tamaqua, and daughter Carol A. (Alex S.) Tallick of Harrisburg; and granddaughters Kristen Corinchock Milam, Fountain Springs, Lori Corinchock, Ashland, Nicole Corinchock (Neil E.) Lipinsky, Allentown, and Alexa L. Tallick (Garett) Bulatovic, Harrisburg. Dolores is also survived by great-grandchildren Gretta, Maksim, and Kaia.

A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated from St. Mary’s Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, 210 West Blaine St., McAdoo, on Friday, Oct. 11, 2019 at 10 o'clock a.m., Panachida Services will precede, Father D. George Worschak to officiate.

Visitation prior to the services will be held from 9 a.m. until time of worship.

Burial will be at the St. Nicholas Cemetery, located on the Burma Road, Mahanoy City.

Arrangements are being handled by the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Tamaqua.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in Dolores’s memory to Fritzingertown Senior Living Community, 159 South Old Turnpike Rd., Drums, PA 18222-1726; or Alzheimer’s Association, 2595 Interstate Dr., Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110-9378.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude for the outstanding care and compassion given to Dolores for the past fourteen years by the doctors, nurses, and ancillary staff of the Fritzingertown Senior Living Community.
