Around 11:15pm, Saturday, emergency personnel responded the area of Fairgrounds Road (Route 901) and Dutch Road for a report of an automobile fire.
According to Lavelle Assistant Fire Chief Russ Hummel, a woman travelling northbound on Route 901 smelled something hot, pulled onto Dutch Road, and after getting out of the vehicle, she found a fire in the engine.
Hepler said when he arrived the front of the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames.
The woman walked away unharmed but the vehicle was destroyed.
Responding to the scene were the Lavelle Fire Department, Fountain Springs Department, and Butler Township Police.
