Jane K. Hammond, 60, of Orwigsburg, died Friday January 17, 2020, at Penn State Health-Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA.

Born in Pottsville, August 1, 1959, she was a daughter of Roland Miller of Pine Grove and the late Dorothy (Bretzius) Miller.

She worked for Verizon as a Dispatcher in Hershey and more recently as a Bus Driver for the Pottsville Area School District.

Surviving are 2 daughters Janice Balulis of St. Clair; Emily Luckenbill of Pitman; 2 granddaughters Julia Jane Balulis and Jullian Emily Balulis , brother Roland Miller and a sister Barbara Luckenbill.

Friends may call from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM Friday January 24, 2020 at the Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home 110 North 2nd Street St. Clair, PA 17979. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to PAHS Aquatics Parents Booster, C/O Kim Martinko , 17 Eastwood Lane Pottsville, PA 17901.

David Nicholas Scherr, Sr., 82, of Deer Lake, passed away Sunday, January 19th, at his residence with his long time companion Linda by his side.

David was born in St. Clair, on March 18, 1937, a son of the late Mary (Hofer) Scherr and Bernard Scherr.

He was the widower of Rose Hnatishion. She passed away in 1975.

He was raised in the Catholic Faith and was a 1955 Graduate of St. Clair High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and was employed as an Electrician for AT&T, Alcoa and Western Electric. David was a volunteer Firefighter for the Alert Fire Company, St. Clair and the Deer Lake Fire Company.

In addition to David's Companion Linda Baker, with whom he resided, David is survived by his daughter, Rose Ann, wife of Bruce Fisk, of Wyoming; Two sons David "Nick", husband of Franca D'Agostino Scherr, of Dillsburg, PA and BJ Scherr, of Lake Wynonah.

He is also survived by grandchildren Nicholas, Zachary, Sophia, Maria Scherr and Tyler Fisk. Nieces Nephews & Cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Hamilton - Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg, on Tuesday January 28th at 1:00 PM with interment to follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until time of service.

Elizabeth May Moyer, 72, formerly of Market St., Auburn, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Pine Brook Assisted Living Center, where she resided.
Born on May 11, 1947 in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Helen D. Gavaletz Spontak.
She was the loving wife of Brian K. Moyer, to whom she married on October 31, 1992 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Summer Hill.
Elizabeth enjoyed cooking, baking, shopping at malls, spending time outdoors, hiking with her husband and their fox terrier companions, Spunky, Prince and King.
Elizabeth was a 1965 graduate of St. Clair High School. She began her working career for Panther Valley Loan Co. in Schuylkill Haven. In 1969, she joined People's Safe Deposit Bank in St. Clair, working at the new drive in branch in Mill Creek as Officer-Head Teller. She worked at M & T Bank from 1983 as Branch Manager/Officer in Cressona. She began working for the Commonwealth of Pa. Division of Liquor Control in Harrisburg in 1993. She retired December 31, 2008.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Summer Hill and life member of the Pine Grove Historical Society.
She proudly served her country in the Army National Guard for 17 years, honorably discharged with rank of Sergeant.
Funeral Services will be announced at a later date. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to the St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 1235 Summer Hill Rd. Auburn, PA 17922 in her memory.
