Catherine Barton, Pottsville, fell into eternal sleep Wednesday evening January 13 at Lehigh Valley Schuylkill –East.

Born December3, 1916 in the village of Black Heath, she was the daughter of the late John and Christina (Chernaski) Seador.

She was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. In 2018, Catherine received a citation from both Governor Tom Wolf and The House of Representatives paying tribute to her as she celebrated her 102 birthday.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Walter Silver and her second husband Charles Barton. She was the last member of her immediate family.

Catherine is survived by her daughter Joan (Silver) Strauss-McDonald, Augsburg Germany; granddaughter Stefanie Gartenmann wife of Stefan, Switzerlnad; great grandchildren Luca and Julie, Switzerland; Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Padinske & family; Mr. and Mrs. Steve Delink & family; Mrs Betty Polny; Mr and Mrs. Michael Polny; Mr. and Mrs. Guy Polny & family; and Mr. Mrs. Michael O’Pake & family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11AM Wednesday January 22 at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects Wednesday morning from 9AM until 10:30AM at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home 515 W. Market Street Pottsville. Josephine E. Leach, 66, of S. Willow Street, Mt. Carmel, former Lavelle resident, passed away Friday evening January 17. 2020. at the Mountain View Nursing Center, Coal Township.

Carter Jacob Larkin-Kukta, 14, of Branchdale passed away Monday January 13.

Born in Reading, he was the son of Michael Kukta Jr. and PatriciaLarkin.

He attended the Minersville schools and was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Minersville. He was a member of Boy Scout Troop 600, Llewellyn, the Williams Valley Trap Team and Muddy Creek Sportsman Club..

He was preceded in death by a grandparent, Denise Davenport; great grandparents Bernard Larkin Sr. and John and Rose Kukta , Rosemary Symons: a great-great grandmother Mary Porter.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother Reese; grandparents, Bernard and Mary Ann Larkin, Branchdale and Michael Kukta Sr., Minersville; a great grandmother Rita Larkin, Branchdale; aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends may call Tuesday morning from 8 AM to 10 AM at the Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, 328 Sunbury St., Minersville. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM in St. Michael the Archangel Church, 539 Sunbury St., Minersville.

The family would prefer remembrances of Carter in the form of contributions to either Boy Scout Troop 600, 318 Willing St. Llewellyn Pa, 17944 or to the Williams Valley Trap Team, 10330 State Route 30, Tower City, Pa.17980.
