John C. Baumgartner, 71 of Pottsville, died Friday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill East.

He was born August 4, 1948 in Baltimore, Md.

He was a Diesel Mechinic prior to retiring

He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Llewelyn.

He was preceded in death by 2 sister, Betty and Linda; a brother, Rudy.

John is survived by his wife, Mun Ju Jackson Baumgartner; a daughter, Stacy Landis; 3 grandchildren; a son-in-law Michael Landis.

Services and interment will be private. Arrangements are under the care of James B. Humphrey, F.D., James E. Humphrey Funeral Home.

Jeanne M. Ferhat, age 81, of Pottsville, PA passed away with her family by her side on Saturday, February 15th, 2020 at The Gardens at York Terrace in Pottsville. 

Born in Lansford, PA on December 28, 1938, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Rose (Knox) Cannon. Jeanne was a graduate of Marion High School and then became a Licensed Practical Nurse at the St. Joseph School of Nursing in Scranton. She then was the first LPN hired at the Good Samaritan Regional Hospital in Pottsville and worked for 38 years until retiring in 2001. Jeanne was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Pottsville and she had a love for church and Notre Dame Football. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: John Cannon, John Wilhelm, and Michael Cannon Sr. Jeanne is survived by her husband of 52 years, William J. Ferhat, Pottsville; three daughters: Mary R. Ferhat, Pottsville, Louise Knoblauch and her husband Charles, Schuylkill Haven, and Donna Burkot, Pottsville; four grandchildren: Miranda and Natalie Burkot and Nicole and Kristina Knoblauch; a sister Anne Davis and her husband Robert, Lake Hauto; and nieces and nephews. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Pottsville at 10AM on Wednesday, February 19th. Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing Tuesday evening from 6-8PM and Wednesday morning from 8:30-9:30AM at Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home in Port Carbon. 

Interment will be held in the Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in Pottsville.

Jane M. Marx, 88, of Tremont, formerly of Pottsville, passed away Sunday, February 16th.

Born in Schuylkill Haven, March 4, 1931, a daughter of the late James and Mae Harner Fetter.

Jane was retired from the former Miller Sewing Factory, Port Carbon.

She was a former member of the First United Methodist Church, Pottsville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Marx; two sisters, Joan Carpenter and Joyce Ferrier; two brothers, John and Bob Fetter.

Surviving are her sister, Shirley Grammer, Mechanicsburg; Nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Saturday, February 22nd at 11:00 am from the Dimon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Tower City with Pastor Annette Shutt. Lenord E Green, Sr., 85, of Birch St., Palmyra, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020 in the MS Hershey Medical Center.
Born on December 13, 1934 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Emmitt and Emilie Linnebrogger Green.
He attended the Palm Lutheran Church in Palmyra.
Lenord enjoyed bowling, and playing ball with the family. He was a big follower of Penn St. and Philadelphia Eagles Football, and the Philadelphia Phillies.
Preceding him in death were his first wife of 33 years in 1992, Louise Tackett Green; a son, Lenord Green, Jr., and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Joanne M. Zimmerman Green; three daughters, Elizabeth Morrisey, Mary Hoover, Louise Gricks; two sons, Charles Green, Ernest Green; a step daughter, Tara Boltz; 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, with whom he had great joy spending time, especially by the pool or a day at the park.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 10:30 AM, at Palm Lutheran Church, 11 W. Cherry St., Palmyra with Pastor Carl Rabbe officiating. There will be a visitation on Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 9:30 AM until time of service at the Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to either the Palm Lutheran Church, 11 W. Cherry St., Palmyra, Pa. 17078 or the Humane Society of Lebanon County, 150 N. Ramona Rd., Myerstown, Pa. 17067.
