Kathryn K. Baddick, 95, of Tamaqua, PA died on Saturday, February 1, 2020, in Coaldale, PA. She was the wife of the late Theodore Baddick who died 1999. Born on August 2,1924 in Tamaqua, Kathryn was a daughter of the late Curtis E. and Mae (nee Byrent) Keefer. 

A 1942 graduate of the former St. Jerome High School, Tamaqua and a 1945 graduate of St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, Reading, she worked for Dr. Ditchey on East Broad Street in Tamaqua. Kathryn was a member of The Parish of St. John XXIII, Tamaqua, a former secretary of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and a former member of the CWEA. She was a member of the Tamaqua American Legion Auxiliary. 

Kathryn is survived by daughter Anne K. Baddick and her companion Emmett McCall and his daughters, Madison, Darby, and Avery; step daughter, Patricia Vickland of Winston Salem, NC; and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Mary Durilla and brothers, Leo Keefer, Richard Keefer, Curtis Keefer and Robert Keefer. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, February 8 in St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 307 Pine Street, Tamaqua followed by interment in St. Jerome Cemetery, Lombard Street, Tamaqua.

Dorothy “Dot” Cress, 70 of Coal Township, passed away peacefully on Saturday at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

Born in Girardville, she was a daughter of the late John V. and Anna Pidgeon Gregis. She worked as a dietary aide for Mount Carmel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, Girardville now worship site to St. Charles Borromeo Parish.

Dot enjoyed doing crafts and making wreaths.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Robert and Francis Gregis.

Dot is survived by her son Justin Dietrich, Coal Township; her daughter Jean Willis, Kulpmont; her brother John P. Gregis, Girardville; her two grandchildren: David and Abbey Willis; her beloved partner, William Dietrich, Mount Carmel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 5th at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, Girardville with Rev. Brian Miller, pastor, as the celebrant. Friends are invited to her viewing at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass. Interment will be held in St. Vincent’s Catholic Cemetery, Frackville.

John "Jack" Grosser, 74 of Ashland,PA passed away Friday, January 31,2020 at Broad Mt. Manor Nursing & Rehab. Center, Frackville, PA. Born in Gordon,PA November 29,1945 the son of the late Raymond E. and Catherine (Geist) Grosser. 

He graduated from Ashland High School and worked as a painter all of his working life last working for Evans Painting, Ashland until retirement. 

Surviving are two sisters Shirley wife of Robert Bernard, Apopka, FL and Jeanetter wife of Donald Kessler of Vienna,Va. He was preceded in death by a sister Mae E. Grosser and two brothers: Walter and Raymond Grosser. Many Nieces and nephews survive. 

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 6,2020 at 11:00 AM from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA. Pastor Susan Hocking officiating. Visitation Thursday 10:00-11:00 AM from the Funeral Home. Interment in Barry E.C. Cemetery, Barry Twp.,PA. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Inc. Charles Heizenroth III,Supervisor.
