Joseph G. Gwyther, 63 of Peach Drive, New Ringgold, Pennsylvania passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020, home in the care of his family.

Born Saturday, December 29, 1956 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania the son of the late John and Faye (Kelly) Gwyther. He was also predeceased by a brother, Sam Stokes.

Survived by his wife of 32 years, Susan Marie (Jones) Gwyther; daughter, Yvonne Coombe wife of Shane of Andreas; sister, Diane Kramer and her husband Terrance of Minersville; grand children, Madison and Liam.

A Minersville High School graduate, Joe worked as a Tree Surgeon, and Plumber before working at Deka Battery in Kutztown. Joe enjoyed gardening, fishing and the company of his pets; however, he loved being a grandfather.

Sandra K. Wychulis, wife, mother, nana, of West Ruddle Street Coaldale, Pennsylvania passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. at 71 years of age.

Born Friday, December 24, 1948 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Joseph and Kathleen (Bright) Bubble. She was also predeceased by; her first husband, Frank A. Rhubright; daughter, Angela C. Rhubright - DeWine; brother, Alfred Bubble.

Surviving are; her husband of 35 years, Carl L. "Bud" Wychulis; daughter, Cheryl L. Martuscelli wife of Rick of Tamaqua; grand daughter, Brittany UpDike; great grand children, Brady and Payton; sister, Betty Ann Waidell and her husband, Mark; brothers, Leon Bubble and his wife, Karen and Joseph Bubble and his wife, Sara. Many nieces and nephews also survive Sandy.

A graduate of Tamaqua Area High School, Sandy had worked as a Pharmacy Tech at the former Ashland State Hospital and also worked for the Carbon County Vo-Tech. In the early 1980's she owned and operated Sandy's Dairy Bar in Hometown.

Sandy, accompanied Bud and "Remember When" as they played shows throughout North East Pa. She eventually became the audio tech for the band. She and Bud have been integral supporters of the American Cancer Society, devoting countless hours to the Cancer Society yearly Telethon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 o'clock AM on Wednesday February 12, 2020 from St John XXIII R.C.C. located at 310 Pine Broad Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252.

Friends may call on the morning of services from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. and on Tuesday evening February 12, 2020 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in St. Jerome R.C.C. Cemetery of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.

Rodman D. Knott, 89, of Schuylkill Haven, formerly of Lewistown Valley, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, February 5th, at Luther Ridge, Pottsville.
Rodman was born in Orwigsburg, PA on March 5, 1930, a son of the late Marguerite (Potter) and William H. Knott.

He was the widower of Ruby Arlean (Houser) Knott, she passed away in 2017.
He was a 1949 Graduate of Orwigsburg High School and was a member of Zion Church Lewistown Valley Tamaqua.
He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and was employed by Polymer in Reading, PA.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge #138 and the Little Schuylkill Lions Club.
Rodman is survived by his daughter, Donna Mihalov, wife of Thomas, of Schuylkill Haven and his son Dean Knott, husband of Debra, of Lake Wynonah.
He is also survived by Granddaughter Angela Gruver & Grandson Andrew Knott, husband of Angela.
Rod was predeceased by his brothers James Kramer & William Knott.
A Religious Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 10th at Hamilton - Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg, with Pastor James Williams officiating, followed by Military Honors.
Interment will be private, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion's Church Lewistown Valley, 489 Valley Road, and Tamaqua PA 18252

Eugene C. Horn, 95, of Essex House Assisted Living, Lemoyne, passed away Thursday, February 6th at his home.

Born in Tower City, August 25, 1924, a son of the late Luther and Gwendolyn Parry Horn.

Eugene was a graduate of the former Tower City High School. He received his Bachelor's degree at Mansfield Teachers College and his Master's in Education from Penn State University.

He was a United States Air Force Veteran of World War II, serving from 1943-1945. He was a member of the American Legion.

Eugene was Social Studies/History teacher for the Northampton School District in Bergen, NJ and retired in 1985 from the Pine Grove Area School District.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Gwendolyn and Joseph Zedlar.

Never having children, Gene considered his surviving nieces more like daughters; Amy Yovanovich (William), Camp Hill; Jane Leib (John), Goshen, NJ and Zo Weglarz, Myrtle Beach, SC; great nieces and nephews, Joseph Yovanovich, Jessica and Jason Leib, Alyssa Fuller and Sean Weglarz.

Grace E. Fritz, 94, of Andreas, died Wednesday, February 5, 2020, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Coaldale. She was the wife of the late Walter T. Fritz. She married the love of her life on July 24, 1948 and celebrated 67 years of marriage before his passing on January 22, 2016. She taught school at Franconia Elementary School, Souderton, for two years and one year in Palmerton School District. She then took time off to raise her family. She returned to teach for the Tamaqua School District at the West Penn Elementary School and retired in 1993. 

Born in Andreas, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Jennie (Daubenspeck) Arner. She was a life member of St. Peter’s Church, West Penn. For many years she taught Sunday School, enjoyed helping the “Kitchen Krew” and was a member of the church Retirees Group. Grace was a 1942 graduate of Tamaqua High School and a 1945 graduate of Kutztown University with a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. 

Surviving are three sons, Dennis W., of Minneapolis, MN, Kevin D. and his wife, Dianne, of Schuylkill Haven, and Barry L. and his wife Kathy, of Cambridge WI; a daughter, Karen F. Reber, of Reading; four grandchildren, Toni L., wife of Jessie Smith, of Lusby, MD, Lauren Reber, of Denver, PA, Jeffrey Reber and his wife Johanna, of Reading, and Marcy, wife of Scott Krill, of New Tripoli; three step grandchildren, Debbie, wife of Robert Dawson, of Hampshire, England, Taylor Lisella, of Santa Barbara, CA, and Krysten, wife of Amar Arekapudi, of Dallas, TX; four great grandchildren, Hailey and Charleston Reber, twins, Sierra and Jayden Krill, five step great grandchildren, Milford, Hermine and Hugo Dawson, Madyson and Brady Arekapudi, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Howard, Oliver and Willard Arner, two sisters, Ferne Shellhamer and Violet Arner, and a son-in-law, Lawrence Reber. 

Services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at the Hartman Funeral Home, 1791 West Penn Pike, Rte. 309, New Ringgold, with the Rev. Virginia M. Heimer officiating. 

Call 9:30-11am. Interment in St. Peter’s Church Cemetery.
