First Death from Coronavirus Reported in Pennsylvania

On Wednesday, State Health Officials announced the first death from the coronavirus in Pennsylvania.



According to officials, the man was a patient at a hospital in Northampton County.

The man's name, age, or hometown was not released.



On Wednesday, the Department of Health confirmed 37 new positive cases of the COVID-19 virus in Pennsylvania.

From the 37 new cases, 1 of the cases has tested positive in Berks County.

As of March 18th, 2020, no cases have been announced within Schuylkill County.

The current tally in Pennsylvania as of this posting from the Department of Health is 133.  The Department of Health also reported that 896 cases have been tested as negative.
