Marie McMullen, 98, a lifelong resident of Brockton, PA died on Friday, March 20, 2020 in Pottsville PA. 

She was the wife of the late Bernard McMullen to whom she was married 42 years at the time of his death in 1989. Born in Pottsville on January 4, 1922, Marie was a daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (nee Schneider) Bonenberger. A graduate of the former Blythe Township High School, she worked as a floor lady for various local garment factories. Marie had been a member of the former St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Brockton and a member of the Brockton Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to play bingo and especially loved to travel. With friends, she took bus trips as far as Canada and California. Marie was a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. 

She is survived by daughter, Marie Tennant of Tamaqua, PA; sons, Bernard McMullen and his wife Cathy of Georgia, Joe McMullen and his wife Karen of Arizona, and Pat McMullen and his wife Kathy of Texas; 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; brother, Jim Bonenberger and his wife Dolores of Tamaqua; and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a daughter, Marian McMullen in 1972; brothers, Thomas Bonenberger and Joe Bonenberger; sister, Rita Bonenberger; grandchildren, Shawn McMullen and Lori McMullen; and great grandchild, Andrew Ladd. 

Memorials in Marie’s name may be made to the Tamaqua Area Adult Day Care Center, 801 East Broad Street, Tamaqua, PA 18252. Services for Marie will be scheduled for a later date.

Bernard J. McCauley, Sr., 87 of Frackville, passed away Wednesday March 18, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill, Pottsville. 

Born in Shenandoah, September 22, 1932, he was a son of the late Bernard and Sabina Coyle McCauley. He attended Frackville Schools. He was Chief of Police at the Wernersville State Hospital and was Chief of Security before his retirement. He also worked at the former Good Samaritan Hospital, Pottsville as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Bernie enjoyed working on cars and when he needed a break, he would say going for my coffee. He was a member of the Goodwill Hose Company, Frackville and volunteered with the Fire Police for many years. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Margaret G. Zimmerman McCauley, in 2011; a son James and his wife Judy McCauley; a daughter-in-law, Dolores McCauley. He is survived by his children; three sons; Bernard, Jr.; Kevin and his wife Kathy and Keith McCauley; five daughters; Sharon McCauley; Karen Fredericks and Husband Mel; Peggy Wetzel and husband Wade; Kathy Blackwell and husband Gene; and Maggie McCauley-Beury; 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. 

As a precaution to the COVID-2019 virus, a Private Graveside Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family in Greenwood Cemetery, Frackville.

Raymond J. McNevich, 92, of Shenandoah, passed away on Friday, March 20th at Ridgeview Health and Rehabilitation in Shenandoah Heights.

Born on March 12th, 1928 in Shenandoah he was the son of the late Peter and Anna McNevich.

He was 1946 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School, attended trade school for air conditioning and refrigeration repair and worked in that profession for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed going to the casinos.

Raymond served in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Florence “Kristopolski” McNevich in 1994. Also preceding him are 2 daughters and 1 brother.

Surviving are 1 son, Robert McNevich – Shenandoah and Nieces and Nephews.

Scripture Services will be held on Tuesday, March 24th at 10am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah officiated by Msgr. Ronald Bocian. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Parish Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
