Chris E. Setcavage, 45, of Mahanoy City, PA, passed away Monday, March 23rd, at his residence.

Chris was born in Mahanoy City, PA on March 20, 1975, a son of the late Ruth (Fegley) and Eugene Setcavage.

Chris is survived by a sister, Lori Setcavage, of Harrisburg, a brother, Curtis Setcavage, of Mahanoy City;

He is also survived by 4 nieces.

Chris is preceded in death by a brother Charles.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

William O. "Billy" Rhoades, age 75, of Mahanoy City, died Sunday morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital E. Norwegian Street in Pottsville. 

Born in Coaldale he was the son of the late William O. and Alice (Hartranft) Rhoades. He was a 1962 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School and was last employed by the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Mahanoy City and sang in the church choir. He was a 50+ year member of the Mahanoy City Fire Department. He belonged to the Washington Hook and Ladder Fire Company for many years and following in his father's footsteps was a tiller driver. He is currently a member of the Citizens Fire Company and Mahanoy City EMS where he was a volunteer EMT. He was a member of the Schuylkill County Firefighters Association and also Six County Firefighters Association. Not only did Billy play sports but was an avid fan of Shenandoah Valley sports watching his grandchildren play and his favorite past time was watching his grandson play football. He was a member of and an officer of the Jerry Wolman Northern Anthracite Chapter of the PA Sports Hall of Fame. He was a midget football coach for Mahanoy Area for many years and a softball coach for the Shenandoah girls softball league. He was an avid deer and rabbit hunter and raised Beagles. He was a member of the NRA and beagle clubs too many to mention. 

Survivors include a daughter Holly Petrushonis and her husband John of Shenandoah Heights, a brother Robert Rhoades of Shenandoah, 3 grandchildren Lily Petrushonis and her fiancĂ©' Chris Bonk, Katy Petrushonis and Cam Petrushonis and a great granddaughter Leena Bonk and his three Beagles Belle, Jessie and Harley.

Mary Ellen Davidson, 68, Frackville, passed away peacefully on Monday evening at Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill, Pottsville.

Born in Wichita Falls, Texas, she was a daughter of Pearl Davidson, Shenandoah and the late Charles Davidson.

Mary was of the catholic faith and was a member of the former Annunciation BVM Church, now Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Barry Davidson.

Mary is survived by her three sons: Richard Davidson, David Walter, and Jeffrey Davidson, all of Frackville; her mother Pearl Davidson; two sisters: Helen Kufrovich and Deborah Mills; two brothers: Charles Davidson, Tom Davidson and a step-brother Junior Davidson; grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Dorothy S. Kropp, 92 years of age, of Summer Valley Road, New Ringgold, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at Hometown Nursing & Rehabilitation Ctr. in Tamaqua.

Born Monday, January 2, 1928 in Dothan, Alabama. the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Butler) Smith. She was also predeceased by; her husband, Stanley E. Kropp, Sr.; sons, Rev. George P. Kropp, John Edward Kropp; sister, Josephine Grant; brother, Paul Smith.

Surviving are; sons, Stanley E. Kropp, Jr. of Charleston, SC, Herbert James Kropp and his wife Kathleen of Tamaqua, Jeffrey Lawrence Kropp and his wife Wanda of Tamaqua; daughter, Remel Ann Durilla of Winter Park, Fl.; 13 grand children; 13 great grand children; 1 great great granddaughter.

In her youth Dorothy picked cotton in Alabama. Dorothy retired from the former Atlas Powder Company of Reynolds. She was a devoted member of the Primitive Methodist Church of Tamaqua serving on the Missionary and Ladies Aide Societies as well as having been Youth Director for many years. Dorothy enjoyed planting and tending to her garden.
