William F. Balulis, 73, of Seltzer, Norwegian Township, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on Saturday at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.

Born in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Albert and Anna Harkins Balulis. He was a 1964 graduate of Nativity B.V.M. High School. He worked for Allied Chemical and Tropp Contracting before taking employment with Cressona Aluminum. He retired from SAPA, Cressona, after 22 years of service.

He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, having served at U.S. Naval Facility, Aregentia, Newfoundland, where he met his wife, the former Mary Osmond, with whom he would have celebrated 52 years of marriage this June.

He was a member of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church, Minersville, and a current member of St. Patrick Church, Pottsville. He was also a life member of both the Seltzer Hose Company and the Seltzer Gun Club. He was a fan of Philadelphia sports teams, including the Phillies, Eagles and Flyers.

Preceding him in death were three brothers, Albert Balulis, Jr., an infant, in 1936, John Balulis, in 2017, and Joseph Balulis, in 2019.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Madonna Hammer, Pottsville, and Michele Parobek, Seltzer; four grandchildren, Megan and Jake Parobek, Nicholas and Gabrielle Hammer. He is also survived by his sister, Joan Hufnagle, Seltzer; sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; and his canine “best buddy”, Cooper.

Current services will be held from Dutcavich Funeral Home at the convenience of the family, with memorial services to be scheduled at a later date. Private interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Township.

Robert H. Davis, 78 years of age of Tamaqua passed away on March 25, 2020 at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Medical Ctr. in Coaldale.

Born in Newark, NJ the son of the late Albert Whigham and Mary H. Davis. He was also predeceases by; son Tracy Davis.

Surviving are; beloved wife of 25 years, Anna Belle Davis; daughters, Sabrina Jones and her husband Loucious, Charlene Davis, Leslie Williams; sons, Robert Davis, Jr., Jermaine Davis and his wife Ashante, Charles Mims, Brandon Davis and his wife Ericka; brothers, Daniel Davis, Tyrone Davis; sisters, Brenda Davis; 16 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.

Robert served in the United States Marines during Vietnam War. He was a graduate of Essex County Community College and drove limousine for many years. Robert enjoyed listening to music, dancing and was an avid reader.

Dorothy A. Melocheck, 72, of Minersville passed away Friday at her home.

Born in Platon, Oregon, she was a daughter of the late Burris and Evelyn Hartzel Montross.

She was a high school graduate of Derby High School, Wichita, Kansas. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville. She was a member of the Pottsville Bowling Association and was inducted into the “Hall of Fame of Bowling”.

Dorothy was an avid bowler and enjoyed going to the Hollywood Casino, playing cards and doing puzzles. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Melocheck and a sister Linda Banks.

She is survived by a daughter Christina Barton and her husband William, Pottsville; a son Scott Johnson and his wife Tiffany, Minersville; 5 grandchildren, Samantha Raudenbush and her husband Matt, Shawn Barton, Cassidy Barton, Destiny Johnson and McKenzie Johnson; 2 great grandchildren, Kloee Raudenbush and Brogan Raudenbush; her foster mother, Georgia Bryant; 4 brothers, Raymond Montross, Ernie Montross, Jesse Montross (Dorothy’s twin brother), Jack Montross; 4 sisters, Kathy Jolly, Wanda Clemans, Jill Newton, and Sylvia Montross; nieces and nephews.

Alice Chiaretti, age 104 of Girardville,PA passed awway Saturday March 28, 2020 at Shenandoah Manor Nursing & Rehab., Shenanoah, PA.

Alice was born May 1,1915 in Girardville, PA to Joseph Walaconis and Beatrice Danielavage Walaconis. She was a member of St. Vincent Parish, Girardville. Graduated from St. Josephs High School and worked for many years at the family bar and restaurant business in Girardville.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Chiaretti in 2008.
Nieces and nephews survive.
Services for Alice Chiaretti will be held at the convenience of the family and Rev. Brian Miller. Burial at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Annville, Pennsylvania.
