Julia A. “Dolly” Gogno,  83, formerly of Brier City, Norwegian twp. passed away Friday, April 3 at the Reading Hospital. Born and raised in Dowdentown, she was the daughter of the late John Stefansky and the late Anna Kalinich. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Stefansky Barton, and her husband, Charles Gogno.

Surviving are a son, Charlie Gogno, husband of Anita, Hatfield, and a daughter, Diane Gogno Rollins, Sinking Spring, wife of Vince Rollins, as well as five grandsons: Nicholas Gogno, Philadelphia; Nathan Gogno, Pottsville; Neil Gogno, Quakertown; Mitchell Rollins and Joshua Rollins, both of Sinking Spring; and a great grandchild, Vivian Gogno, Philadelphia.

Julie was co-owner of The Blue Front, a clothing store in Minersville, for many years. She was active in the area Merchants Association and contributed her time and talents to helping strengthen the local business community. She also worked for many years at the Acme in Pottsville.

She was an active member of Ss Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Minersville, where she helped organize fundraisers for the school and church. She loved cooking, gathering the family for holidays and Sunday dinners, traveling with friends, listening to polka music, and being involved in her church and community. While most of her life was spent in Brier City, she spent the last several years in Sinking Spring, lovingly cared for by her daughter and son-in-law.

All services are private. Interment Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Cemetery.

Ann Joyce Bobbin, 76, of Shenandoah, passed away on Saturday, April 4th at the Lehigh Valley Medical Center Schuylkill East, Pottsville.

Born in Shenandoah on October 15th, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Sophie “Gawrylik” Bobbin.

Joyce worked in the local garment industry and then worked as a CNA for several years. She was a member of the former St. George’s Church, Shenandoah and the ILGWU. Joyce enjoyed cooking, doing needlepoint, and going for car rides. Above all else, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Besides her parents, preceding her death was 1 brother, Michael Francis Bobbin.

Surviving are 1 daughter, Michelle Bonomo with her husband, Tony – Ringtown, 1 brother, Anthony Bobbin with his wife Marianne – Allentown, 2 sisters, Susan Mary Bobbin – Shenandoah and Mary Swies with her husband Paul – Frackville. 2 grandchildren, Chad Anthony Bonomo and Carly Nicole Bonomo, a niece, Jennifer Bobbin, and her loving lifelong companion and caregiver, Frank Rizzo – Shenandoah Heights.

Private Scripture Services for the immediate family will be conducted on Wednesday, April 8th at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah officiated by Msgr. Ronald Bocian. Burial will follow in the Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

Oravitz Funeral Home, Shenandoah, is in charge of arrangements.
