Northern Schuylkill County Rotary Recognizes Students of the Year from Mahanoy Area and Shenandoah Valley

The Northern Schuylkill County Rotary Club has recognized two students from both Mahanoy Area & Shenandoah Valley High Schools for their unselfish dedication in providing community service and bestowing them with the title of “Rotary Students of the Year.”

Selected from Mahanoy Area was Madison Denchy, daughter of Kimberly & Neil Denchy who will attend Alvernia University and major in Occupational Therapy, and Samuel Quick, son of Samuel & Tracey Quick who will attend Misericordia University & major in Physical Therapy. 

Selected from Shenandoah Valley was Abby Conroy, daughter of Bill & Pamela Conroy, who will attend George Washington University and major in Biology and Joseph Karvois, son of Steve & Jolene Karvois who will attend Gettysburg College and major in International Relations & Affairs with a minor in Political Science.

This is the first year that the newly formed Northern Schuylkill County Rotary Club has the honor of recognizing four Students of the Year since the merging of Rotary clubs covering the geographic areas of Mahanoy City and Shenandoah. Club President Brad Oravitz issued certificates of achievement along with monetary gifts to the four graduates. NSC Rotary officers include Franklin Fetter, Vice President, Linda Truskowsky, Treasurer, and Marie Poppoff, Secretary.
