Elizabeth “Betsey” A Stumpp, 78, of Pottsville, passed away in the presence of her family on Sunday at home.

Born on January 4, 1942 in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth Niadna Burnett. She was raised in Tamaqua, having attended St. Jerome School. She was a 1959 graduate of Marian High School. She has resided in Pottsville for 52 years. She worked for the former Van Heusen Company, Pottsville.

She was a member of St. Patrick Church, Pottsville.

Preceding her in death was a sister, Joan Farnschlader.

Betsy is survived by her husband of 58 years, James H. Stump; two daughters, Regina “Jean Lynn (spouse, Bob), Pottsville, and Kelly Brown (spouse, Harry), Coatesville, Indiana; 9 grandchildren, Daneen McDonald (spouse, Gene), Vicki Svercek (spouse, Jason), Jeremiah Lynn, Josh Lynn, Kelsie Lynn, Nava Brown, Laurel Brown and Celeste Brown; three great-grandchildren, Miranda Seiger, Kieran Bush, and Isaac Seiger. She is also survived by a sister, Regina Valentine (spouse, Michael); nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are incomplete.

Brenda L. Hosler, 54 of Coaldale, died on Saturday, June 20, 2020, at Lehigh Valley Hospice 17th & Chew Streets, Allentown.

Born Saturday, June 18, 1966 in Coaldale, the daughter of Judith (Hosler) Jones of Coaldale, and the late Carl Jones.

Surviving are; daughter, Elizabeth "Liz" A. Hosler and her companion Mark Boyle of Tamaqua; son, Carl M. Hosler of Nesquehoning; grand children, McKenzie Witkowski, McKayla Hosler, Emma Boyle.

A graduate of Panther Valley High School, Brenda had worked as a C.N.A. at the former Coaldale State Hospital, was an EMT, and former officer of the Coaldale Ambulance Assoc. Brenda, belonged to the Coaldale Fire Department of Coaldale, East End Fire Department of Tamaqua, Coaldale V.F.W. and was on their shuffleboard team.

Charles E. Thomas, 68 of Alburtis, Pennsylvania died on Saturday, June 20, 2020, at Manor Care Salisbury Twp..

Born Sunday, October 21, 1951 in Greenville, South Carolina the son of the late Charles and Lucille Thomas..

Surviving are sons, Charles F. Thomas of West Milford, NJ and Christopher M. Thomas and his wife Nina of Alburtis; grand children, Frank and Vincent Thomas.

Charles served honorably in the United States Marines, and was a roofer by trade.

Helene Mae Lyba, 92 years of age, formerly of Tamaqua, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, as a guest of Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lehighton, Pennsylvania. .

Born Saturday, November 19, 1927 in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Edgar and Ruth (Walker) Henritzy. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Lyba on December 7, 1998.

Surviving are; son, Ronald J. Lyba and his wife Penny of Adamstown; grand children, Heather, Corey; sister, Yvonne Onushco of Tamaqua; nephews, Brian, Jeffrey, and Mark Onuscho; nieces, Mary Beth Ovsak-Miller, Patricia Meck and dear friend, Roberta Massaro, family members, Jean and Joe Stopyra. Numerous other nieces and nephews also survive Helene.

A 1945 graduate of Tamaqua High School, Helene had worked at the former J. E. Knitting Mills of Tamaqua for many years. She was an longtime active member of the former SS. Peter and Paul R.C.C. of Tamaqua having served as past president of the Ladies Aux. for many years. Strong willed, Helene was a fifty year cancer survivor.
