Motorcyclist Flown After Two-Vehicle Crash onto Interstate 81 on Saturday; DUI Suspected


A motorcycle rider was flown after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 on Saturday where DUI is suspected.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred on Saturday, August 22nd, 2020 around 5:00pm near mile marker 133.1 on northbound Interstate 81 in Ryan Township.

Police say Tyler Moore, 30, of Jersey Shore was riding a Yamaha motorcycle and Terra Bertin, 33, of Jersey Shore, driving a Kia van were both traveling in the left lane of Interstate 81.

Moore struck the rear of Bertin's van and was thrown from the motorcycle and landed in the grass on the shoulder of the highway.

Moore was transported from the scene to a landing zone and flown to Geisinger.

Bertin was not injured but placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI and transported to an area hospital for a blood draw.

Police say the investigation into the crash is ongoing pending lab results.
