One Person in Custody After Shots Fired in Frackville

One person is in custody and  police are investigating after shots were fired in Frackville on Wednesday afternoon.

According to Frackville Police Chief Rick Bell, on Wednesday, August 5th, 2020 around 4:15pm, police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of South Penn Street and Arch Street, Frackville.

The incident reportedly occurred over a neighbor dispute.

Chief Bell said one person was taken into custody but their identity was not available at the time.

It was also reported that at the scene, an AR-15 and two shell casing were recovered and a van was struck twice by bullets.

Multiple local police responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.

No injuries were reported.

Chief Bell said there is no threat to the public.

UPDATE (08/05/2020) - The arrestee was transported to Schuylkill County Prison late Wednesday to be arraigned on one count of criminal attempted homicide, 2 count of aggravated assault, 4 counts of recklessly endangering another person, and 1 count of propulsion of a missile into a vehicle.

The identity of the suspect was not release pending arraignment.  More details on Thursday.
