Firefighters Battle 3-Alarm Fire in Ashland

A fire in Ashland Monday afternoon displaced at least 11 people.

At 2:23pm, fire crews were called to the area of 420 Middle Street in Ashland for a house fire.

Heavy fire was found in the rear of the home and the fire was quickly upgraded to a 3rd alarm calling in additional units from around Schuylkill County, Northumberland County, and Columbia County.  A tanker task force was also dispatched.

The fire heavily damaged the homes of 426 and 422 Centre and also caused minor damage to a home at 420 Centre.

Early reports were that 11 people were displaced.  One person was injured and taken to an area hospital for treatment.

All occupants made it out safely.
