Esther Arlene (Lutz) Heisler
, 81, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, September 2, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Glenn R. Heisler and the mother of one daughter, Cheryle Lynne (Heisler) Giles, wife of L. Allen Giles, Gilbertsville. She was a loving, dedicated grandmother, and great-grandmother. Born on the family farm in the Lutz Valley of Schuylkill Haven, she was a resident of Cressona most of her life and the daughter of Henry and Marian (Reed) Lutz. She is survived by one brother, Lewis Lutz.

Her surviving family includes grandsons Justin Allen, husband of Elise (Sherman) Giles and Jared Andrew, husband of Danice (Reid) Giles, and two great-grandsons, Siah Allen Giles, and Avery Reid Giles, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Esther was Valedictorian for Cressona High School class of 1956. Shewas committed to her church family at Bethesda (Reedsville) E. C. Church, Schuylkill Haven PA, serving many years as Official Board and Sunday School secretary, choir, and various committees. Along with Glenn, she supported many Christian ministries in the region. She was an avid Penn State football fan and a dedicated employee of the former ARGO Credit Union.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by siblings, Lorraine Lutz, Paul Lutz, Carrie (Lutz) Hepler, Elmer Lutz and Ida (Lutz) Blankenhorn.

Esther’s final earthly resting place will be the Reedsville Cemetery at the site of the former Reedsville Church building.

Donations in Esther’s name may be made to the Reedsville Cemetery Association, 23 Meadow Brook Drive, Schuylkill Haven PA 17972.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at Bethesda Evangelical Congregational church of Reedsville on Tuesday, September 8 at 11 am with Pastor Mark Brooks officiating.

Rayne Irene Slackus
, 76, of Forestville, Cass Township, passed away on Wednesday at home in the presence of her family.

Born on June 24, 1944 in the home where she died, she was a the daughter of the late Steve and Dillie Antonelli Marcovitch. She was a 1962 graduate of Cass Township High School. She first worked in her father’s coal delivery business driving coal trucks. She later worked for the former Bashore Knitting Mill, Schuylkill Haven.

She was a member of the former St. Barbara Church, and currently attended Holy Family Parish of Minersville.

Rayne was a loyal fan of Elvis Presley; and she loved cooking and baking. But in her later years, Rayne's grandchildren were her world, sharing lunches with them and spoiling them with ice cream.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Anthony "Sonny" Marcovitch.

Rayne is survived by four children, Susan Jones (spouse, Brian), Stephens City, Virginia, Stephanie Seiders (spouse, Frank), Primrose, Cass Township, Stacie Slackus, Forestville, and Steven Slackus (spouse, Selena), Pine Grove; five grandchildren, David, Dawson and Dylenah Seiders, Chaylee and Cora Slackus; her former husband, Joseph Slackus, Pottsville; several cousins, including her best friend from childhood, Rosemary Guidas (spouse, Andy), Deer Lake; her godson, Robert Guidas; her canine grandchildren, Marley, Sheba and Gracie.

The family will accept visitors at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury Street, Minersville, on Monday from 6:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 6:00 A.M. Visitation will end promptly at 9:15 A.M. when procession will form. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in St. Michael the Archangel Church, 539 Sunbury Street, Minersville. Interment will be in St. Barbara Cemetery, Branch Township. Visitors and attendees are expected to follow CDC guidelines.

Mae L. White
, 81, of Pine Grove, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at the home of her son.

Born on April 12, 1939 in Rock, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Helen Miller Minnich.

She was a 1956 graduate of Pine Grove High School and a member of Manbeck's Church, Schuylkill Haven, where she taught Bible School and was a member of the Ladies Aid.

Mae was a cafeteria cashier for the Pine Grove School District.

She was a member of the Model A Restorers Club, Hershey AACA and Keystone Kops.

Mae was a very kind and caring woman. Her multiple acts of kindness were felt by many family and friends. She enjoyed baking and crocheting. She and her husband Jack always supported their family and always attended sporting events to see their children and grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband Jacque E. "Jack" White; a son Drew White; two sisters, Irene Minnich and Fernly Minnich.

Surviving are two sons, Dean and wife Barbara White, Dennis and wife Patti White, both of Pine Grove; four grandchildren, Dustin and wife Kari White, Derrick and wife Lizann White, Austin White and Kelsey and husband Benjamin Peterson; great grandchild, Bentlee Peterson.

Graveside Services and interment will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at Manbeck's Cemetery, Wild Cherry Road, Schuylkill Haven, with Pastor Norman Dixon officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to Manbeck's Church Memorial Fund, c/0 Deborah Reiter 159 Spittler Rd. Pine Grove, PA 17963 in her memory.
