Elaine F. Bove, 66, lifelong resident of Tamaqua, PA, died on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at home in Hometown. She was the wife of Joseph Bove to whom she was married 38 years. 

Born in Tamaqua on December 22, 1954, Elaine was a daughter of the late John and Jean (nee Zapotoczny) Fiderack. A 1972 graduate of Marian High School, she was a member of the former St. Jerome Catholic Church, Tamaqua. An avid reader, Elaine also enjoyed gardening and cooking. She supported many charities from home. 

In addition to her husband Joseph, she is survived by sons, Anthony Bove and his wife Kelly of Slatington, PA and Justin Bove and his wife Natasha of Tamaqua, PA; grandchildren Alura and Emery; sisters, Pat Cipko of York, PA and Joanne Nalesnick of Hometown; and several nephews and nieces. 

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials in Elaine’s name may be made to Glen Highland Farm Border Collie Rescue, 6699 Fox Center Parkway, Suite 434, Gloucester, VA 23061.

Shirley M. Herb
, 90, of Orwigsburg, passed away Monday, December 28th, at her home, surrounded by her daughter Sandy, Granddaughter Kimberly & Great Granddaughter Lexi. 

Shirley was born in Hecla, PA on October 2, 1930, a daughter of the late Leah (Stamm) and George I. Eckroth. She was the widow of Jay D. Herb. She was a member of Christ Church, McKeansburg, and was a member of the Women's Guild. She was a graduate of Tamaqua High School, Class of 1948. Shirley was employed as a machine operator at the former Sylray Company in Orwigsburg and retired in 1986. 

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Sandra Thomas, Orwigsburg and a son, William Herb, Seattle WA. She is also survived by her Grandchildren, Christopher, Kimberly, Shannon, Matthew, Kristen, Patrick & Elizabeth and Great Grandchildren Hannah, Ryleigh, Jenna, Lexi, Caden, Sydney and Xavier. She was predeceased by her twin sister Catherine M. Quinter as well as her sister Betty J. Haas. She loved her late dog Jazzy. 

Private Religious services will be handled through the Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Orwigsburg and officiated by Rev. Jon Heim. 

Interment services will be held in Friedens Lutheran Cemetery New Ringgold

Patricia R (Patti) Rae, 68, of Pottsville, passed away Sunday, December 27th, at Lehigh Valley Health Network-Pottsville.

Patti was born in Buffalo, NY on March 18, 1952, a daughter of the late Patricia E. (Helenbrook) and Gordon George Hohensee.

Patti very much enjoyed her profession as a dog groomer. She is survived by her brother, Gordon Hohensee, husband of Mary as well as some very wonderful friends. Patti was predeceased by her brother Dennis Hohensee, sister Sue Vincent and Patti's twin sister Pam Eckel.

A graveside Religious service will be held January 5, 2021 at 12 noon with Pastor Joan Weiderhold officiating at St. Mark's Browns Church Cemetery in Schuylkill Haven.

Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Orwigsburg, has been entrusted with the arrangements. Guests are asked to follow CDC guidelines to help stop the spread of Covid-19.

Patricia Sophy, age 72, of Pottsville, PA passed away Tuesday, December 29th, 2020 at her home.

Born in Pottsville, PA on November 16, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Madelon (Joseph) Sophy.

Patty was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Pottsville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.

Patty is survived by four sisters, all living in Delaware and many nieces and nephews.

Yolanda Mary Thompson, 75, of Pottsville, passed away on Monday at home.

Born on November 10, 1945 in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Clara DeAngelis Thompson. She had resided in Schuylkill County since 1992. She was a Home Health Aide before taking employment with the Schuylkill Transportation System (STS).

She was a member of the Church of Broken Pieces, Minersville.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Samuel Hedrick, in 1991.

Yolanda is survived by five children, Emily Smith, Schuylkill Haven, Charles Hedrick, Nevada, Jacqueline Anderson, Minersville, Veronica Holliday, Philadelphia, and Ronald Holliday, Texas; twelve grandchildren; a great-grandchild. She is also survived by a sister, Clara Ann Thompson, Virginia.

Services will be announced at a later date.

Eleanor R Ruch
, age 95, of Hegins, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - E Norwegian, Pottsville.

She was born on Saturday, May 2, 1925, in Barry Twp.

She was a seamstress for area garment factories and also worked at Twin Valley Farmers Exchange before her retirement.

She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins.

Eleanor enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Adam Lohr and by her second husband Marvin L Ruch.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda K Kiefer and her husband Lee of Hegins; a son, Marvin D Ruch and his wife Wenda of Mt Joy; four grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.

Private services will be held at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View with Mark Swanson officiating.

Burial will be made in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.
