A portion of Interstate 81 is closed Wednesday morning near Hazleton.
As of 10:00am, Interstate 81 northbound is closed between the Exit 145 (West Hazleton) and Interstate 80 due to a multi-vehicle crash.
The highway is expected to be closed for several hours.
The closure is causing a backlog of traffic that is extending near the Route 924 exit.
UPDATE(1:15pm): The Interstate has reopened.
