Lewis H. Lutz, 81, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Tuesday, January 26th, at his residence.

Born in Wayne Township,on January 18, 1940, a son of the late Marian (Reed) and Henry Lutz. 

He was a member of the first graduating class of Blue Mountain High School in 1957. He worked his whole life as a self employed farmer.

Lewis is preceded in death by his siblings Carrie Hepler wife of the late Harry, Esther Heisler, Ida Blankenhorn, Paul Lutz, Elmer Lutz and an infant sister Lorraine Lutz.

He is survived by his companion Betty Heinbaugh; brothers in law Glenn Heisler and Wayne Blankenhorn; sisters in law Peggy and Eleanor Lutz; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, January 30th at Bethesda Evangelical Congregational Church of Reedsville in Schuylkill Haven, with Pastor Al Giles officiating.

A viewing for family and friends will be held prior from 10 am until the time of the service at the Church.

Interment will follow at Summer Hill Cemetery.

Philomena H. Pishock, 102, formerly of Bridgeport, PA, passed away Wednesday, January 27th, at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg, where she had been a resident.

Born in Bridgeport, PA on July 18, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Henry & Mary (Lombardo) Celio.

She was the widow of Charles Pishock.

In addition to her parents and husband, Phiolmena is also preceded in death by her son, Charles Pishock, granddaughters, Donna, & Kimberly Pishock, great-grandson, Jared Pishock, and daughter-in-law, Linda Pishock and Virginia Pishock

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bridgeport, PA.

Philomena is survived by two sons: Philip, husband of Janet Pishock, of Orwigsburg; and Henry Pishock, of Bally, PA; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, great great grandchildren, a sister, Theresa Seiders, of Bridgeport, PA, and nieces & nephews.

Services and interment will be privately held at the convenience of the family.

Gerald L. Boyer
, 77, of Auburn, passed away Tuesday, January 26th, at Green Valley Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, Pottsville.

Born in Pottsville on May 23, 1943, he was a son of the late Lamar & Pauline (Gaydos) Boyer.

He was the widower of Carol A. (Krause) Boyer; who passed away May 7, 2019.

In addition to his parents and wife, Gerald is also preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Brown.

Gerald was a graduate of Blue Mountain High School, and served in the U. S. Army Reserves.

He was a member of Bethesda Evangelical Congregational Church of Reedsville.

Gerald was a self-employed mechanic; and was the owner and operator of Boyer's Service Center, Schuylkill Haven.

He is survived by two daughters, Valerie, wife of Steven Heintzelman, of Auburn; and Susan Boyer, of Orwigsburg, as well as granddaughter, Rachel Heintzelman, great-grandson, Jaxson Hollenbach, both of Pottsville, and his aunt, Irene Sabo, Laureldale.

Private services and interment will be held at the family's convenience.

Dean F. Shade
, 60, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Monday, Jan. 25, at his residence.

Born Dec. 9, 1960, in Reading, he was a son of the late Jane (Brown) and Charles Shade.

He was the husband of Tammy S. (Ahner) Shade. They celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary Sept. 19.

He attended Blue Mountain High School and was formerly employed by Pine Crest Tree Farm and Pleasant Valley Landscaping. Dean loved fishing, gardening, Steelers football, time with his family and playing with his beloved fur baby, Bella. He was a member of the Second Mountain Rod and Gun Club, Cotton Club Pool League, Mechanicsville Fish and Game Club and played on various softball teams.

Dean was preceded in death by his siblings, Darlene Thomas, Patricia Leymeister and Keith Shade.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a daughter, Alyssa Shade, and a son, Cory Shade, both of Schuylkill Haven; grandchildren, Peyton M. Gilbert, Alea Porter and Austin Johnston; stepchildren, Brandon and Shawn Green, both of Kunkletown, and Katie Nieroda, wife of Jerry, of Albrightsville; step-grandchildren, Bryce Green and Jerry Nieroda; brothers, Mike Shade, husband of Darlene, of Orwigsburg, Terry Shade, husband of Linda, of Texas, and Chris Shade, husband of Belinda, of Pine Grove; his fur baby, Bella; nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, 15 Earl Stoyer Drive, Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Jim Fidler officiating. A public viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will be privately held.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be forwarded to Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., 25 E. Main St., Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972, to help defray the costs of the funeral services.

Marion A. McGlinchey, 96, formerly of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Sunday, Jan. 24, at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg, where she had been a resident.

Born April 18, 1924, in Schuylkill Haven, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Edna (Loy) Schwartz.

She was the widow of William J. McGlinchey.

In addition to her parents and husband, Marion was preceded in death by her brother, Winfield L. Schwartz.

Marion is survived by two nephews, Richard Schwartz and his wife, Michelle Tau, of Cranbury, N.J., and Robert Schwartz and his wife, Cynthia, of Columbia, Mo.

She was an active member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schuylkill Haven, throughout her life. She had a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed being in the church choir. Marion had retired from Pennsylvania National Bank, Cressona, after numerous years of service as a teller.

Marion had a kind heart and a gentle soul and was deeply loved by those who knew her. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as attending reunions of her husband's military unit. She was especially close to her nephews and took great interest in their lives. Marion also enjoyed watching her friends' children grow up. Many of her friends have remarked that she made them feel like they were members of her family. Marion was also devoted to looking after her parents in their later years.

Private entombment will be in St. Ambrose Mausoleum, Cressona. A memorial service is planned at a later date.

Rickey L. Knapp, 67, of S. Tulpehocken St., Pine Grove, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at home.

Born on February 17, 1953 in Pottsville, he was a son of Anna Krammes Knapp of Pine Grove and the late Luther Knapp.

He was a 1972 graduate of Pine Grove High School and was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove.

Rickey worked for Guilford Mills, Pine Grove.

He was a member of the Pine Grove VFW, Pine Grove Fish & Game, Ricochet Gun Club and enjoyed working in the backyard and hunting.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Donna Knapp; a daughter Kayla Knapp, both of Pine Grove; a sister, Larkann Beck of Tremont; nieces and nephew.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven.

Merlin J. Spancake, 85, of Waterfall Rd., Pine Grove, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at home.

Born on July 15, 1935 in Roedersville, he was a son of the late Milton and Pauline Zimmerman Spancake.

He was a graduate of Pine Grove High School.

Merlin was an Army veteran.

Merlin worked for the PA Steel Foundry.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Preceding him in death was a daughter Tina Spancake.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Mollie Bohr Spancake; two sons, Roger and wife Lisa Spancake and Ronald Spancake; a daughter Melissa and husband Gary Lineaweaver, all of Pine Grove; three grandchildren, Steven Spancake, Renee Spancake and Garrett Lineaweaver; a brother Carl Spancake; two sisters, Joan Fessler and Carol Hummel, all of Pine Grove.

There will be a viewing on Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Jerry H. Stoutland, 91, of Orwigsburg, passed away Sunday, January 24th, at The Specialty Hospital at Rittenhouse, Philadelphia.

Jerry was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 1, 1929, a son of the late Agnes (Sakariesen) and Peter Stoutland. He was the widower of Joyce J. (Dunker) Stoutland.

He was a member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schuylkill Haven.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a New York City Firefighter. Jerry enjoyed golfing as well as being an Eagles fan. He was a member of the Staten Island Baseball Oldtimers Association.

Jerry is survived by two daughters, Nancy, wife of Tony Pugliese; Karen, wife of Eric Anderson; two sons, Steven Stoutland and Jeffery, husband of Allison Stoutland. Jerry is also survived by grandchildren - Dana, Nicky, Erin, Jennifer, Kristen, Jake, Madison, Fran, Michael, Toni-Anne and great grandchildren - Joey, Juliana, Jolie, Katie, James, Abbie, Lilly as well as a sister Patricia Stoutland of North Carolina. He was predeceased by his brother Arthur Stoutland.
