Wesley J. Doyle, 80, Frackville passed away Friday, January 1st at Geisinger St. Luke’s Hospital, Orwigsburg.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home Inc., Frackville is in charge of the arrangements.

Paul H. Miller
, 88, died peacefully on January 1, 2021 at Fellowship Manor in Whitehall, PA after battling Covid-19. 

Born May 30th, 1932 in Tamaqua, PA, he was the son of the late Rodney S. and Sara Bahner Miller. 

He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Marion Aiken, also of Tamaqua, two children, Robin of Philadelphia, PA and Jeff (Tammy) of Walton, KY, and three grandchildren, Owen of Madison, WI, Emily of Nashville, TN, and Ella of Walton, KY. He is also survived by his brother Kenneth, of Allentown, PA, and fourteen nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Stanley and Gary Miller. A graduate of Tamaqua High School.

Paul earned his BS in Physics from Muhlenberg College, then served in the U.S. Army before beginning a 40-year career at the former Atlas Powder Company in Reynolds, PA. Paul’s career took him to Dallas, TX and Roanoke, VA before returning to the Lehigh Valley in 1980. 

A long-time resident of Schnecksville, Paul has resided at Fellowship Community since 2013. Paul was an Elder Emeritus at St. John’s UCC in Tamaqua. Known for his kind spirit and keen intellect, Paul was a curious individual who spent his free time reading and learning, mastering home repairs, working outside, and spending time with his extended family. Always willing to lend a helping hand to those who needed it, Paul will be greatly missed by those whose lives he touched.

Paul will be interred at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Tamaqua, PA. A celebration of Paul’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations, in Paul’s name, be made to St. John’s UCC, 150 Pine St, Tamaqua, PA 18252. Online condolences may be made at www.zgfuneralhome.com.

Leocadia Jane (nee Karpa) Matsago
, 88, of Tuscarora, PA died on Friday, January 1, 2021 in Easton, PA. She was the wife of the late, John E. Matsago, Sr. to whom she was married 51 years at the time of his death on June 13, 2005. 

Born in Coaldale, PA on July 10, 1932, Leocadia was a daughter of the late Joseph and Maryann (nee Wienisewski) Karpa. A 1951 graduate of the former Coaldale High School, she worked for the Tuscarora Sportswear and prior to that the Atlas Powder Company. A member of the former St. Bertha Catholic Church, Leocadia was currently a member of The Parish of St. John XXIII, Tamaqua, PA. Her appreciation of flowers was expressed through her gardening activities. A very family-oriented person, Leocadia’s love of family extended to her siblings. 

She is survived by children, John Matsago, Jr. of Lewistown Valley, PA and daughter-in-law, Kathryn of Lewistown Valley, PA, Zigmund Matsago of Largo, FL, Susan Matsago of Lewistown Valley, PA, and Leocadia Miller and her husband, Thomas of Tuscarora; Grandchildren, John Matsago III, Paul Matsago, Jennifer Miller, Thomas Miller Jr., and Ashley Miller; great grandchildren, Kaleb May, Madelin Miller, Gavin Miller, Rylah Price, Carly Matsago; brothers, Bernard Karpa of Coaldale and Leonard Karpa; many nephews and nieces. 

She was predeceased by siblings, Isadora Karpa, Philomena Karpa Erbe, Jean Karpa Sutkowski, and Zigmund Karpa. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, January 9, 2021 in St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 307 Pine Street, Tamaqua. Interment in Sky View Memorial Park will follow the mass. 

Memorials in Leocadia’s name may be made to either the American Cancer Society, 712 South Keyser Avenue, Taylor, PA 18517 or the Tuscarora Fire Company, 301 Mulberry Street, Tuscarora, PA 17982.
