As of 12:00pm, Route 309 is closed and will be closed for several hours after a crash Tuesday morning.
Around 11:30am, emergency personnel were called to 83 Claremont Ave/Route 309 in Rush Township near Seitz for a multi-vehicle accident with entrapment.
Early reports were the crash involved two vehicles.
Personnel are at the scene and reported that the highway between Tamaqua and Hometown will be closed for at least 2 to 3 hours before the scene is cleared.
