Around 2:45pm, Sunday, emergency personnel from Girardville were dispatched to Connerton Street, in Butler Township, for a motor vehicle accident.

At the scene, Girardville Fire Chief Frank Zangari found a downed utility pole and Chevrolet Sedan with heavy front end damage.  Prior to being dispatched Chief Zangari reported parts of the east end of Girardville lost power due to the crash.

The two passengers, who were reported to not have been injured, were still at the scene while the driver fled.

As of 4:00pm, Sunday, Connerton Street was still closed as PPL crews were at the scene.  Girardville Fire remained on scene until PPL crews arrived.
