Schuylkill County School Districts Receive Awards through "What's So Cool About Manufacturing?" Competition

On April 27th, 2021, the "Whats So Cool About Manufacturing?" awards were presented virtually to the winners, including some from Schuylkill County.


Presented by Manufacturers Resource Center (MRC), the Student Video Contest: “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing?” (WSCM) gave students in Berks and Schuylkill Counties the opportunity to network with local manufacturers as well as gain new perspectives, record their experiences and present them in an educational and “cool” way through documentary video production. The program was created to generate excitement that draws students towards considering manufacturing career paths to create a 21st century workforce.

The Winners are as follows in each category:
  • Outstanding Overall:  Exeter Township's video on American Polarizers, Inc.
  • Viewers Choice:  Pine Grove Area's video on Highwood USA
  • Outstanding Creativity:  Boyertown West and Wilson West
  • Outstanding Cool:  Tri-Valley's video on Fabcon Precast
  • Outstanding Team Spirit:  Minersville Area's video on Mrs. T's Pierogies
  • Outstanding Outreach Plan:  Tamaqua Area's video on Ashland Technologies
  • Outstanding Career Pathway:  Conrad Weiser's video on Palram Americas
Also participating in the contest from Schuylkill County were the school districts of Shenandoah Valley, Williams Valley, North Schuylkill, and Mahanoy Area.
