Jeffery L. Walters, 67 of Pottsville, died Monday morning at Providence Place, Pottsville.

He was born August 19, 1953 in Pottsville a son of the late Dr. William H. Sr. and Faye A. Hartung Walters.

He was a 1971 graduate of Pottsville Area High School and a 1976 graduate of Mammoth College with a BA in Arts.

Jeff worked as a travel agent at Boscov's before moving to Atlanta, GA continuing to work as a travel agent prior to retiring.

Throughout his life Jeff enjoyed traveling around the world following eclipses, and also enjoyed pottery, art and gardening.

Jeff is survived by his siblings, Beth Flannery and her husband Ron; Linda Jones and her husband Bob; Gary Walters; a William H. Walters, Jr. and Emma Jane Bauers. A niece Amy and a nephew Adam; 5 great nieces and nephews, Libby, Ben, Jack, Sam, and Adeline.

A services of remembrances celebrating the life of Jeff will be held Friday, July 2, at 11AM from the James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville. Family and friends and invited to a visitation from 10AM until the time of services. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Jeff be made to Compassus Hospice 1001 James Drive, Ste 34, Leesport, PA 19533 or Positive Impact Health Center, 2800 Century Parkway NE, Ste 550 Atlanta, GA 30345. Interment will be in Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown, Tamaqua.

Thomas B. Shipe
, 80, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Sunday, June 27th, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Schuylkill, E. Norwegian St., Pottsville.

Born in Pottsville, on November 21, 1940, a son of the late Mildred (Sharadin) and T. Burton Shipe.
He was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School, class of 1958. He was the owner and operator of T. Burton Shipe Plumbing and Heating. He served in the U.S. Army.

Thomas is survived by his siblings Ellen Gross, Honeybrook, and Joanne Shipe, Birdsboro and step-children Matthew Laub, William Higgins and Clarissa Laub.

He was preceded in death by his companion Theresa Higgins.

A viewing for family and friends will be held 10:00 to 11:00 on Friday, July 2nd at Geschwindt Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc. in Schuylkill Haven.

Shirley Ann Wildermuth
, 74, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Friday, June 25th, at St. Luke's Hospital, Orwigsburg.

Born in Pottsville on December 28, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Arlan A. & Grace (Edling) Wildermuth.

Shirley was a 1964 graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School.

She was employed by local textile factories as a machine operator.

Shirley was a member of First United Church of Christ, Schuylkill Haven. She was a life member of Rainbow Hose Company No. 1, Schuylkill Haven.

She was an avid reader, and enjoyed crafts, including needlepoint.

Shirley loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her sister, Betty Wingle, and nephew, William Wingle, Sr. & wife, Patsy, all of Schuylkill Haven, as well as two great-nephews, William Wingle, Jr. & wife, Mindi, of Pottsville and Kyle Wingle & wife Olivia, of Schuylkill Haven, and a great-great-niece, Amelia Wingle.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, June 30th at First United Church of Christ,Schuylkill Haven, with Rev. Shawn VanDyke officiating. A Viewing will be held from 12 PM until the time of service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will follow at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

At the family's request, memorial donations in Shirley's memory may be forwarded to First United Church of Christ 110 PA Rt. 61 South, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.

Ruth Ann Bender Casterline
, of Lincoln, PA walked into the gates of heaven on Sunday, June 27, 2021 surrounded by her family at St. Luke's hospice, Bethlehem at the age of 59.

Born in Pottsville on September 6, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Jean Borinsky Bender.

She was met at the gates of Heaven by her husband Adrian (Andy) Casterline, son Jeffrey Slane, parents, Earl and Jean Bender, brothers Larry and Earl Jr. "Buddy" Bender, a niece and nephew, Alexis and Kyle Bender.

Ruth enjoyed being with her family and friends, enjoyed fishing, trips to Wilkes-Barre, yard sales, cook outs, being outdoors and loved her hummingbirds. She enjoyed her life to the fullest and loved spending time with all her family but especially her granddaughter Bentlee, her pride and joy.

Surviving to carry on her love and memories are her children, Nicholas Leiby of Pottsville, Nichole Phillips of Schuylkill Haven, Angella and husband Thomas Eye of Pottsville and Felicia Randazzo of Lincoln; grandchildren, Christopher Haller, Sapphire Haller, Veronica Fitting, Sheila Fitting, Anthony Phillips, Brock Leiby, London Leiby, Alexander Eye, Ceciley Eye, Bentlee Bachman, Sarah Leiby; great grandchildren, Levi Haller, Xander Cole, Oliver Fitting, Alexander Haller, Owen Haller, and Lakelynn Rumberger; sisters, Theresa and husband Bruce Hand and Betty Bender and husband Ed Hauptly; nephew Jeremy and wife EmilyWenrich and a niece Marcella Hauptly.

Our mom was the type of person that wouldn't take anyones crap. She had a huge heart and loved everyone. She was easy going, anyone that ever had the chance to meet her would say how outspoken she was. She would light up any room she walked in. She was the glue that held our family together. She loved cooking and baking and making candy. She will be missed by all of us but we know she's in a better place. She is no longer suffering. We will carry our mom's memory on with all of us. She will be missed forever. Till we meet again. This isn't goodbye, but see you later! We love you to the moon and back Mom!

Graveside Services and interment will be held on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove, with Rev. Brian Beissel officiating. There will be a visitation on Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., 139 S. Tulpehocken St., Pine Grove, Pa. 17963 in her memory.

Lillian Bergan, 90, of Buck Run, Foster Township, passed away on Monday at her home.

Born in Mount Pleasant, Foster Township, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Dorothy Bowers Yoder. She was a 1947 graduate of Cass Township High School. She was employed by the Schuylkill County Tax Assessment Office, retiring as Chief Assessor in 1991.

She was a member of the Trinity Chapel, Buck Run, where she served on Church Council for many years. She was also a member of the Mount Pleasant Fire Company Ladies’ Auxiliary.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 64 years, James A. Bergan, on December 12, 2012; four siblings, Jean Everly, Donna Martin, Darlene Yoder and William Yoder.

Surviving are two children, James R. Bergan (spouse, Carol), Linda Pavao (spouse, Ed), Brier City, Norwegian Township; four grandchildren, Scott Bergan, Keith Bergan, Kelly Sehlhoff (spouse, Matt) and Jaime Boris; seven great-grandchildren, Paige and Addison Bergan, Cailey, Riley and Brady Bergan, Eiren Dilmore and Nolan Sehlhoff. She is also survived by her brother, Ralph Yoder (spouse, Cynthia), Forestville, Cass Township; nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held from Trinity Chapel, 20 Buckhorn Road, Pottsville (Buck Run, Foster Township), on Saturday, July 24 at 1:00 P.M. The family will accept visitors from 11:30 A.M. until 12:45 P.M. Interment was previously conducted in Kimmel Cemetery, Barry Township. Contributions are preferred to Trinity Chapel.
