Joseph Chimahosky, 65, Ashland entered into eternal rest Saturday, June 5 at Lehigh Valley East, Pottsville.

Born September 13, 1955 in Pottsville, he was the son of Veronica (Kolochock) Chimahosky, Pottsville and the late Joseph C. Chimahosky.

He was a graduate of Penn State University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree.

In addition to his mother, Veronica, he is survived by a son Joseph; daughter Ashley; a brother Jeff; and a grandson Peyton.

Services are private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be held on the grounds of St. Stanislaus Kostka Roman Catholic Cemtery Minersville. Robert S. Hope
, 77 years of age, of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania died on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Medical Ctr. in Coaldale, Pennsylvania.

Born Monday, January 3, 1944 in Camden, New Jersey the son of the late Thomas and Catherine (Selsor) Hope. Robert was also predeceased by; his son, Robert S. Hope, Jr.

Surviving are; wife, Nancy (Prangler) Hope; daughter, Jennifer Hope; brother, Thomas Hope; granddaughters, Natalia, and Angelina.

Catholic by faith, Robert worked in printing. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, and fishing.

Warren G. Rubel, 93, of Valparaiso, died June 3, 2021, after a brief illness at Lutheran General Hospital in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. 

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 26, 1927, he was the son of Carl and Agnes (Guenther) Rubel. A Valparaiso resident since 1969, he retired in 1992 from Valparaiso University’s Christ College, where had been a professor of humanities. He graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO with a Master’s in Divinity in 1952. He also held an MA in English literature from Washington University in St. Louis and a PhD in English and American literature from the University of Arkansas. He served briefly as a student pastor at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fayetteville, AR. He taught English for ten years at Concordia Senior College in Ft. Wayne, IN before coming to Valparaiso University. He received the Distinguished Teaching Award from the Valparaiso University Alumni Association in 1980. He served as the Walter G. Friedrich Professor of American Literature from 1989-1992. At his retirement and on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Christ College as an honors college, former students, colleagues and friends of the college established an endowed lectureship, “The Christian Faith and Higher Learning” in his name. 

On November 1, 1950, in Brooklyn, NY he married Julia Kidda, who survives. Also surviving are four children: Karen Kruger (Paul) of Bedford, MA; Micah Rubel (Zina) of Wabash IN; Kristine Eichelberger (Paul) of Whitehall, PA; and Victoria Rubel of Atlanta, GA. 

Warren is survived by one sister; Carla Akers of Green Valley, AZ as well as five grandchildren Mark Kruger (Elena) of Bedford, MA; Matthew Kruger (Kate) of Newton, MA; Tamara Stulen (Landon) of Williamsburg, VA; Kara Eichelberger of Nashville, TN; Calista Schenck, of Tampa, FL and great-grandchildren Andrew, Dean, William, and James. 

Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 in St. Nicholas Greek Catholic Cemetery, Joyce Street, Hometown, PA. 

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1700 Monticello Drive, Valparaiso, Indiana 46383 and Valparaiso University.

Rose M. Marteslo, 80, of Minersville, passed away late Saturday evening at her home.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Antoinette Trotto.

She was a retired custodian and crossing guard for the Minersville Area School District. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church of Holy Family Parish, Minersville. She was on the Board of the Housing Authority, a member of Community Action and she taught CCD at St. Michael’s for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Marteslo Sr. in 1993 and 4 brothers, Anthony Trotto Jr., Raymond Trotto, Donald Trotto and William Trotto.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Grace A. Kuehn and her husband Rodney, Pottsville and Maria T. Ream and her husband Lester, Pottsville; a son John J. Marteslo, Jr., Minersville; 4 grandchildren, Candi Sauble and her husband Steven, Dover, Pa.., Michael Ream and his companion Katelyn, Annville, and Jesse Kuehn and Rebecca Ream, Pottsville; 3 great grandchildren, Ryon Sauble, Cameron Sauble and Alayna Ream; 2 brothers, Peter Trotto, Delaware and Joseph Trotto, Pennsylvania; nieces and nephews.

William R. Kane, 68, of Main Street, Gilberton, passed away Sunday, June 6th, at the Rosewood Nursing Center, Schuylkill Haven. Born in Fountain Springs, April 24, 1953, he was the son of the late James and Helen Heaton Kane. He attended Mahanoy Area High School, and was employed as a custodian for Schoeneman Beauty Supply Company, Pottsville, until his retirement. William was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Parish, Ashland. Preceding him in death was his wife, Anne Marie Heffner Kane, passing in August 27, 2013, and brothers, Robert, Patrick, and James Kane
