Thomas B. Ditzler
, 79, of Pottsville, PA, passed away Friday, July 16th, at home surrounded by family.

Born in Schuylkill Haven, PA on January 28, 1942, he was a son of the late Solomon Dewey Ditzler & Bessie (Sterner) Ditzler.

He was the husband of Patricia L. (Dullard) Ditzler.

Tom was of the Lutheran faith.

He was formerly employed in the mining industry; and had also worked as a self-employed truck driver.

Tom was a social member of the AMVETS, Pottsville.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by four daughters: Deborah, wife of Greg Reed, of Auburn;Melissa, wife of Jim Close, of Peach Mountain; Carol Jean Reigel, of Middleport; & Christine, wife ofJoe Cookson, of Pottsville; and two sons: Robert, husband of Chrissy Ditzler, of Tremont; & Thomas, husband of Lucy Ditzler, of Reiley Township. Tom is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, & great-great-grandchildren, and a brother, Larry Ditzler, of Lake Wynonah.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by three brothers: Ronald, Donald, & Kenneth Ditzler, and a sister: Carol Ahrensfield.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be conducted by Pastor Jack Murray at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven, on Wednesday, July 21st at 10:30 AM.
A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 AM until the time of service on Wednesday.
Interment will follow the service at Manbeck's Cemetery, Rock, PA.

Joe-Ann Meade
, 79, Fountain Springs, passed away peacefully Friday morning at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Ashland, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Henrietta Kehler O’Neill.

Joe-Ann was a past president of the Fountain Springs Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed bingo, playing at the casinos and banana splits but most of all she loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas J. Meade Sr., her son Thomas J. Meade Jr., and her sister Bernice Matruder Boyer; brothers-in-law: Bill Matruder, Leroy Boyer and George Rickard.

Joe-Ann is survived by her three loving daughters: Wendy Bolinsky and her husband Len, Ashland, Michelle Dyszel, Frackville, Tammy Hocking and her husband Tom, Gordon; her sisters: Arlene Kimmel and her husband Len, Maryland and Bernadine Rickard, Jonestown; a son-in-law, Steve Dyszel, Frackville; her grandchildren: Jason Blase and Dylan Meade, Kayla and Lenny Bolinsky, Jenna and Haylee Dyszel, Cody, Bria and Emma Hocking; her great-grandchildren: Gavin and Ashton Blase, Lilly and Zoey Meade, Nolan and Brynn Cairo; loved by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 21st at 11 am from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Girardville. Friends are invited to her viewing on Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 6 to 8 pm and again on Wednesday morning from 9:30 am until the time of service. Interment will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Fountain Springs.

Joseph E. 'Pepper' Petrachonis, 76, of Ringtown, passed away Friday, July 16th, 2017 after a brief illness.

Joseph was born in Ringtown, on June 28, 1945, a son of the late Betty (Shoup) and Joseph A. Petrachonis.

After high school, he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and saw active duty with the V-Company, 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division .

Pepper was retired, having been employed as a transmission lineman for PP&L. He was an avid hunter and shooter, and a member of the Shenandoah Fish and Game Club.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Ringtown,was also a member and past master of the former F&AM Lodge 511, and member of the former Frackville Lodge 737, F&AM.

Joe is survived by his brother, Walter Petrachonis of Nescopeck, and by nieces and nephews, cousins, and an uncle, Walter "Whimp" Shoup.

A Funeral Service will be held at the 11 AM on Wednesday, July 21st, 2021 at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown, with Pastor Jay Serafin officiating.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects Wednesday morning from 9-11 AM prior to the service.

Joe will be laid to rest with Military Honors at the Old White Church Cemetery in Ringtown, following the service.

Annabelle L. Davis, a resident of Zion Grove, passed away on July 14th, 2021.

Funeral services are tentatively scheduled for Saturday, August 7th, 2021, at Saint Peter's 'Hargers' Union Church of Christ.

Raymond A. Nelli
, 82, a resident of Clifton, VA, passed away Wednesday, July 14th, 2021, after a brief illness.

Raymond was born in Philadelphia, on July 21, 1938, a son of the late Josephine (DiMeo) Nelli-Allen and Guerino Nelli.

He attended Drexel University, obtaining his degree in electrical engineering, then entered and served his county in the US Army and later the Army Reserves.

A passionate scientist, Ray worked for the United States Government, retiring from the US Patent Office. His passion was researching electricity and magnetic principles, and he published many papers in these disciplines. He was involved in community outreach with school students, sharing his passions, and to his enjoyment, he was fond of shocking people with his electrical gadgets.

Ray was also an accomplished acordian player, recording and sharing his music with relatives and friends. He was also passionate about astronomy and photography, having his own darkroom in his home. At the end of the day, he took time to enjoy a good cigar.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Alice (Cherneski) Nelli, in 2006. He is survived by nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at the 11 AM on Monday, July 26th at Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 10-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Ray will be laid to rest alongside his wife Alice, at St. Mary's Cemetery in Ringtown, following the service.

Lillian M. Sacco
, 97, formerly of Kline Twp. and a resident of Hometown Nursing Home, passed away Wednesday at St. Luke’s Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale.

Born in Audenried, she was the daughter of the late William and Ida (Rice) Schaar.

Lillian was a life-long member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Audenried.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be greatly missed by all.

Preceding her in death, was her husband Frank J. Sacco, Sr.; son Robert G. Sacco; and brother William Schaar.

Surviving, are her son Frank J. Sacco and wife Dianne of Kelayres; daughters Annette Zukovich and husband John of Tamaqua; and Lee Ann Battista and husband Richard of Ashburn, VA; son William Sacco and wife Nicole of Weatherly; daughter-in-law Mary Jo Sacco of Drums; grandchildren Lori Marchetti and husband Robert; Amanda Lundholm and husband Paul; Kristin Girard and husband Michael; Jacklyn Varner and husband Dustin; Leanna Reed and husband Gavin; Michael, Brandon, and Brittany Battista; and Gabriella and Anthony Sacco; great-grandchildren Gianna Marchetti; Layla, Luke and Lana Lundholm; Jack Girard, Janna Varner, Lillyanna and Walker Reed; and many nieces and nephews also survive

Her funeral will be held Monday at the Damiano Funeral Home, Inc., McAdoo. Rev. Robert C. Reier will officiate the service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, West Hazleton.

A calling hour will be held Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
