Bernard Joseph Motika, 77, of West Penn Township, died on Friday, July 30, 2021, in Pottsville, PA. 

He was the husband of Betteann (nee Whetstone) Motika with whom he would have celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary in August. 

Born in Tuscarora, PA on May 21, 1944, Bernard was a son of the late John and Mary (nee Fabian) Motika. A 1962 graduate of Marian High School, he served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Bernard worked for Diversified Metals and retired from Bethlehem Mines. He was a member of the Tamaqua American Legion. In addition to his wife, Betteann, 

Bernard is survived by children, William Coombe and Wendy Beth Motika; 3 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Joseph; and sister, Kathryn. He was predeceased by 9 siblings.

Betty Ann Beach
, 69, Mechanicsville, died peacefully Thursday morning at the home of her son in Pottsville.

Born August 27, 1951, in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Anna (Reedy) Hardy.

She was a graduate of Pottsville Area High School. She worked as a CNA at Schuylkill Center before retiring.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband David J. Beach (January 19, 2015).

Betty is survived by her sons Robert Beach husband of Alicia, Pottsville; David Beach fiancée of Melissa Purcell; and Jerry Beach, Pottsville; grandchildren Jerry Beach, Suzanne Hedemann, Macey Goodson, and Aiden Beach, Taylor, Emily, and Jacob Beach; and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Mary McGlinchey wife of Joseph, Orwigsburg; brothers Edward Hardy husband of Molly, Milton; and Arthur Hardy husband of Sandy, New Ringgold; and several nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services will be held at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home 515 West Market Street Pottsville. Interment will be held on the grounds of Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Please visit schlitzerallenpugh.com to leave a condolence for the Beach family.

Edward J. Andrescavage, Jr., 67, of Seltzer, Norwegian Township, passed away on Thursday at home.

Born at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Edward J. Andrescavage, Sr. and the late Marion McCready Andrescavage Mull. He was a 1971 graduate of Minersville Area High School. A hard-working carpenter all of his life, he had been employed by Forest Hills, Inc., Pottsville, before establishing A & V Contracting, Minersville, with Leo Viola.

A lifelong firefighter, he was a life member of Minersville Fire Rescue. Since residing in Seltzer, he was a member of the Seltzer Hose Company. He was also a life member of Big Hill/Minersville Fish and Game and a member of the Seltzer Gun Club.

Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing and most importantly, spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Consugar, in 2017; a brother, Timothy Andrescavage, in 2004; his stepfather, Earl N. Mull, in 1994.

He is survived by his wife, the former Barbara A. Schwartz, with whom he celebrated 44 years of marriage on July 23; a son, Edward Andrescavage III, Mechanicsville; a daughter, Jennifer Hughes (spouse, John), Mechanicsville; a granddaughter, Grace Andrescavage. He is also survived by four brothers, Earl R. Mull, Minersville, Brian Mull (spouse, Judy), Jonestown, Newton Mull (spouse, Rosemary), Kaska, and Charles Mull (spouse, Darlene), Kaska; three sisters, Anne Securda (spouse, William), Branch Township, Karen Rutecky (spouse, Bryn), Branchdale and Debra Kriston (spouse, Robert), Branchdale; nieces and nephews.

The family will accept visitors at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury Street, Minersville on Monday, August 2, from 6:00 P.M. Interment will be private.
