Blake Raymond Harris, 9 months, of Tremont, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021.

Born on November 4, 2020 in Danville, he was the son of Amber Madenford and Kevin Harris of Tremont.

Blake was always a happy and smiling baby.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are four brothers, Connor, Austen, Wyatt and Axle; grandparents, Ellen and Michael Hooper of Pine Grove, Karin Harris and her companion Jason Kovach of Branchdale, Kevin and Janette Harris of Tremont; great grandparents, Georgine Doran, Kenny and Ruby Harris, all of Branchdale; seven aunts and uncles, Tori and husband James Hancock of Pine Grove, Randi Miller of Tower City, Marilyn Harris and Christopher Harris, both of Branchdale, Gavin Harris and Sophie Harris, both of Tremont, Zach Blouch of Valley View; seven cousins, Cooper, Ariana, Kinsley, Irelynd, Kennedie, Taitum and Larkin.

Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove, with Pastor Barry Spatz officiating. There will be a visitation on Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home.

Dorothy Burns, 79, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Thursday, August 26th, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Philadelphia on April 15, 1942, she was a daughter of the late William & Helen (Kairis) Shaw.

She was the wife of Thomas J. Burns.

Dorothy was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven.

She had worked in the collections department for several banks.

In addition to her husband, Dorothy is also survived by three daughters: Dorothy, wife of Henry Ramos, of Vincentown, NJ; Susan, wife of William McNally, of Southampton, NJ; & Helen, wife of Keith Willis, of Schuylkill Haven. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren,13 great-grandchildren, and a brother, John Kairis, of Linwood, NJ.

In addition to his parents, she is also preceded in death by her brother, William Shaw.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven. A viewing will be held at the church from 9:15-10:15 a.m. Entombment at St. Ambrose Mausoleum, Cressona, will follow mass.

Mary Makara
, 97, Primrose, passed away peacefully Friday morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill East, Pottsville.

Born in Branchdale, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna Brek Kohut. She was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Minersville.

Mary was a 1942 graduate of the former Reilly Township High School, Branchdale.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, homemaker and an excellent cook.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Makara Sr. in 1990 and a sister Anna Warhola.

She is survived by her four children: her daughter and caregiver, Patricia Makara, Primrose; a son, Andrew Makara and his wife Charlene, Primrose; a son, Anthony Makara and his wife Nancy, Fairfax, VA; a son, Dr. Jack Makara and his wife Kalina, Indiana, PA; her sister, Lorraine Lucas and her husband Paul, Fort Washington, MD; her loving grandchildren: Maria, Kathleen, Andrew, Dr. Michael Makara and his wife Sara, Matthew, Lauren and John Makara; numerous nieces and nephews.

A Divine Liturgy will be held for Mary from St. Nicholas Ukrainian Church, Minersville on Monday August 30th at 11 a.m. with Rev. Mark Fesniak, pastor. Friends and family are invited to her viewing at the Donald Butler Funeral Home, Minersville on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Monday morning from 8 to 10 a.m. A panachyda service will be held at 10:15 a.m. Interment will be held in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery. Guests attending the services are requested to wear a mask.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions, in Mary’s name, to the memorial fund of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church at 415 N. Front Street Minersville, PA 17954.

Dallas W. "Duke" Macaulay, 76 years of age, formerly of Tamaqua passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021, at Saucon Valley Manor in Hellertown, Pennsylvania.

Born Wednesday, June 27, 1945 in Ft. Peirce, Florida the son of the late Walter, and Mildred (Bachert) Macaulay.

A graduate of Perkiomen Prep School Dallas matriculated to Admiral Shelton College in Cape May New Jersey while serving honorably in the United States Navy. Dallas achieved the rank of Petty Officer, and served on the U.S.S. Ranger during the Vietnam War. Dallas also attended the University of the Seven Seas.

Dallas was employed as a Pennsylvania Park Ranger, and had worked for Glen-Gery Brick Works.

Dallas was an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed long distance running, and loved to swim.

For many years, Dallas resided with his late aunt Fawn Riley n Tamaqua. He is survived by; cousins, J. Joseph Riley of Allentown, and Michael J. Riley of Barnesville.
