William Stauffer, 90, of Ringtown, passed away on Friday, August 6th surrounded by his family at his daughter’s home in Ringtown.

Born in Shenandoah on September 7th, 1930, he was the son of the late Claude and Bertha (Mackalonis) Stauffer. Bill was a 1949 graduate of West Mahanoy Township High School. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving during the Korean Conflict. After the service, Bill worked as a foreman for Pagnotti Enterprises along with owning Stauffer’s Sporting Goods in Shenandoah. He was a member of the Ringtown American Legion, he coached for Shenandoah Little League where his team won the district championship in 1964. He was also a coach and former Vice President in the Shenandoah football league as well as a J.V. Basketball Coach for Immaculate Heart. Besides sports, Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne R. (Hartzell) Stauffer in 2020.

Bill leaves behind 1 son, William E. Stauffer with his companion Marge Ahrens – Sinking Springs, 1 daughter, Donna Palubinsky with her husband Joseph – Ringtown, 5 grandchildren, Scott Palubinsky with Amy, Mark Palubinsky with Ashley, Allison Rizzo with John, Alicia Solomon with Justin, and Christopher Palubinsky with Alison. 11 great-grandchildren, Abby, Jackson, Ava, Mason, Luca, Enzo, Christian, Gabriel, Anna, Addy, and Alivia.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, August 13th from 9 to 10:15am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30am in Divine Mercy Parish – Sacred Worship Site – St. Casimir’s, 229 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah and will officiated by Msgr. Ronald Bocian. Burial will follow in the Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill’s memory may be made to the Shenandoah Little League.
