Betty A. Goines Kogut
, 92, of Pine Grove, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 surrounded by her family at Geisinger St. Luke's in Orwigsburg.

Born on October 15, 1928 in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Vernon and Eva Moody.

Betty was a waitress and a homemaker. She enjoyed going to yard sales and the Salvation Army.

She was the last member of her immediate family.

Preceding her in death were her first husband, John Aaron Goines, Sr., her second husband, Walter J. Kogut, and a daughter Dianne Goines.

Surviving are two sons, John Goines, Jr. of Pine Grove, David Goines Sr. and wife Gerri of Cressona; five grandchildren, Scott Goines of Mar Lin, Daniel Goines of Wesley Chapel, FL, David Goines, Jr. of Pompano Beach, FL, Stacey Goines of Schuylkill Haven, and Erin Goines of Columbia; and nine great grandchildren.

All Services will be held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Barry Spatz officiating. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to the Salvation Army, 2211 East Cumberland St., Lebanon, Pa. 17042 in her memory.

Elizabeth T. Andrusisian
, 92, formerly of Minersville, passed away Tuesday, August 31st, at Providence Place Senior Living of Pottsville. 

Elizabeth was born in Minersville, on May 27, 1929, a daughter of the late Romilda (D'Allago) and Emilio Rizzi. She was the widow of Stephen Andrusisian who died, February 20, 2005. She was a member of St. Michael The Archangel Church of the Holy Family Parish, Minersville and of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Minersville, where she was an active member of the choir. She was a graduate of Minersville High School Class of 1947. Elizabeth was employed as a seamstress in the local garment industry until retirement. She enjoyed baking. She made many cookies and chocolate Easter eggs at Christmas. In addition to her parents and her husband, Stephen , she was preceded in death by Brothers; Joseph, Francis, and John Rizzi. Sisters; Amelia Koscil, Marie Stefanko, and Dorothy Foran. 

Elizabeth is survived by a son, Stephen, husband of Kathleen Andrusisian, two daughters, Cynthia, wife of Igor Zak, and Beth, wife of Bruce Barger. Elizabeth is also survived by a sister, Catherine Bulino and a brother, Emil Rizzi. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren.  

All are respectfully invited to attend a Visitation on Wednesday 8:00 to 9:30 am at the Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc. in Minersville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am at Saint Michael the Archangel Church of the Holy Family Parish, Minersville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fairfield Carmelites https://donorbox.org/carmelites or 507 Water St. Fairfield Pa. 17320. Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Annville, PA. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville entrusted with the arrangements.

Loretta Cook, 86, of Lavelle, passed away September 2, 2021, at the Mt. Carmel Nursing Center, Mt. Carmel. Born in Shamokin, October 13, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Irene Gilham Martini. She was a graduate of the Shamokin High School, class of 1951, and was employed at the Shamokin Newberry store for many years. Loretta was a member of Christ’s United Lutheran Church, Airport Road, and the Order of the Eastern Star #154, both of Ashland.

Preceding her in death was her husband of 52 years, Calvin G. Cook, passing in February 2007.

Survivors:

Daughter: Carol Cook and her companion Keith Francis, Lavelle

Son: William Cook and his companion Sherri Rada, Lavelle

Granddaughter: Stephanie Cook

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service, Tuesday, September 7th, at 11 AM, in the Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, 1323 Centre St., Ashland. Officiating will be Rev. Dana Heckman Beil, pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Ashland. Interment will follow in Citizen’s Cemetery, Lavelle. A viewing will begin at 10 AM until service.
