Richard G. "Dick" Miller
, 94, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Thursday, September 2nd, at Lehigh Valley Medical Center, Allentown.
 
Born in Schuylkill Haven on July 8, 1927, he was a son of the late Alan & Camilla (Scott) Miller.
He was the widower of Fern A. (Kemmerling) Miller, who passed away January 25, 2007.

In addition to his parents and wife, Dick is also preceded in death by three brothers: Alan, Kenny, & Donald.

He was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School.

Dick had served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Schuylkill Haven.

Dick was formerly employed as the cutting floor supervisor for Alpha Mills, Schuylkill Haven.

He is survived by a daughter, Sharon G. Phillips, wife of Brian, of Bethlehem, PA; a brother, James Miller, of San Antonio, TX, nieces & nephews, and neighbors, Greg & Amy Kirkpatrick.

A graveside service will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, September 8th at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven, with Pastor Amy Kirkpatrick officiating.

At the family's request, memorial donations in Dick's memory may be forwarded to St. John's UCC, 121 E. Main St., Sch. Haven, PA 17972.

Catherine C. Geiger
, 89, of Pottsville, passed away on Thursday at the home of her son in Dowdentown, Branch Township, surrounded by her family.

Born on July 26, 1932 in Phoenix Park, Branch Township, she was a daughter of the late John Dullard, Sr. and the late Elsie Sharp Dullard. She attended Minersville schools and worked in the local garment industry.

A “candy striper” in her youth, she served as a caregiver for numerous friends and neighbors over the years. She was also a dedicated mother to her children and their biggest fan. Keeping house for her family led to a career outside the home as a housekeeper. She was a talented polka dancer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl A. Geiger, Sr., in 1986; two sons, Dale Geiger, in 1971, and Earl A. Geiger, Jr., in 2006; three siblings, Helen Weiner, Margaret Connors and John Dullard, Jr.

Catherine is survived by her five remaining children, Ronald Geiger, Sr., Schuylkill Haven, Susan Geiger, Pottsville, Gary Geiger, Pottsville, Brenda Comishock, New Ringgold, and Daryl Geiger, Dowdentown; twelve grandchildren, Ronald Geiger, Jr., Christopher Geiger, Kyle Geiger, Misty Whalen, Daniel Jenkins, Michael Jenkins, Stephen Spiess, Kerilynne Spiess, Matthew Spiess, Mark Leonard, Jr. Shannon McConnell and Nicole Purcell; ten great grandchildren, Ireland Motto, Daregan Motto, Isolde Whalen, Cora Jenkins, Madison Purcell, Elias Purcell, Rowan Purcell, Thomas McConnell, Remington McConnell and Stanton McConnell. She is also survived by two remaining siblings, Ethel Chistakoff, Branchdale, and Patricia Ditzler, Pottsville; nieces and nephews.
