Julie Stevens
, 67, of the Vulcan, passed away Monday, October 18th, at her residence.

Julie was born in Mifflinburg, PA on September 23, 1954, a daughter of the late Dorothy (Greiner) and Earl Mabus, Jr.

Julie graduated Mifflinburg Area High School Class of 1972.

She worked for many years working at Selinsgrove Center, as an assistant. She ran her own Dog Rescue called “Julie’s HUGS Rescue”.

She was the wife of Daniel Stevens.

Julie is survived by three sons Skyler Milheim, and his Fiancé Dietra DeRose, of Effort; Daniel, husband of Jennifer Stevens Jr., of Florida; Jason, husband of Jennifer Stevens, of Barnesville; four sisters, Della, wife of Wade Hutchison, of Milton; Nancy, wife of Jeff Fullmer, of Florida; Lisa Mabus, of Virginia; Becky, wife of Randy Frey, of Hughesville; five brothers, Joel, husband of Kathy Mabus, of Texas; Jim, husband of Annie Mabus, of California; Albert, husband of Susan Mabus, of Turbotsville; Kevin Mabus, of Allenwood; David, husband of Naomi Mabus, of Florida and also by 3 Grandchildren Sarah, Josh, and Emily. Nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Robert D. McCormick
, 96, of Pottsville, passed away Tuesday, October 19th, at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

Born in Pottsville, on September 8, 1925, he was a son of the late Robert J. & Mary S. (Sands) McCormick.

He was the widower of Anna M. (Ryan) McCormick, who passed away in 1994.

Robert was a graduate of Pottsville Area School District in 1944.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, Pottsville Catholic War Veterans and a life member of the American Hose Co.

He served in the US Army and the US Army Air Corps. He was in combat during WWII and was discharged in Germany in 1946. He re-enlisted and was stationed at the 4400th Air Base group as a member of the military police at West Point Air Field. He was honorably discharged a second time in 1949.

Robert was formerly employed by the 7 Up Bottling Co. for 17 years, clerk for Pottsville Economy Supply, 20 years and Pottsville Area School District as a bus driver for 10 years.

Robert is survived by his sons Donald McCormick husband of Deborah, Pottsville and Lawrence J. McCormick husband of Patricia, Farmington, MN; grandchildren Jeff McCormick, Rebecca Hillje and Michelle Dougherty; great grandchildren Michael McCormick, Ryan Hillje and Norah and Ewen Dougherty.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.

Committal service with military honors will follow mass at Calvary Cemetery's chapel, Pottsville.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's memory may be made to St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, PA 17901.

Florence Shay

After almost 10 years apart Florence Shay is reunited with her loving husband William T Shay. 

Born on April 18th 1929. Passed away Oct 18th 2021 at the age of 92. 

Florence was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-mother. She raised a son William Shay, husband of Marie. Three daughters Suzanne Meyers wife of Ronald, Colleen Kubeika wife of John, Michele Staskel wife of David Staskel. She is also survived by eight grandchildren Candice Brunner, Jennifer Clark, Michael Shay, Valerie Meyers, John Kubeika, Lauryn Jobb, Kelsey Gipe and Connor Staskel. Also survived by 15 great grandchildren. Nieces and nephews. 

She was the daughter of Michael and Mary (zigmund) Minarick Residing most of her life in Schoentown. 

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William T. Shay on March 11, 2012, a brother Mickey Minarick, and a sister Mary Ann Darosh. Florence was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in St. Clair. She was loved by all and enjoyed attending bingo, cooking for her family and friends, crocheting, whistling, and going to the casino and had a collection of angels that watched over her. 

Florence was taken care of for the last three years by Bridgett Klepsch. 

 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in St. Clair on Friday October 22nd at 11AM, with Msgr. William Glosser officiating. 

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday evening from 6-8PM and Friday morning from 9:30-10:30AM at the Robert A Evans Jr Funeral Home in Port Carbon.
