Sara Ann Patusky
of Mulberry Street, Tuscarora, Pennsylvania went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 24, 2024. She was surrounded and cared for in her home by her beloved family, including her four children. She was 89 years old.

Born on Wednesday, July 4th, 1934, in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, she was the second of four daughters of the late William Joseph and Mary Agnes (Kumatis) Coleman. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Joseph Patusky of Middleport, Pennsylvania, whom she married on September 29, 1956, and by her sister, Mary Patricia (Patsy) Baddick.

Sara is survived by her children, Robert and his wife Patricia, William, Marie Nicolosi and her husband Randy, and Christopher and his wife Kiernan; six grandchildren, Christina (Patusky) Bihary and her husband Alex, Beverly (Patusky) Tran and her husband Andrew, Andrew Patusky and his wife Lyn, Lisa Patusky and her husband Darren Weinhold, Luke Patusky, and Alice Patusky; five great grandchildren; and sisters Rosalie McGorry and Suzanne Hamilton. Many nieces and nephews also survive Sara.

Sara was an intelligent, faithful, and empathetic person. Her love and support for the people in her life, that she gave without condition, left a beautiful and indelible imprint on all who knew her.
Known for her sharp mind -- Sara skipped a grade during elementary school. She was a 1951 graduate of the former St. Jerome R.C.C. High School in Tamaqua. Sara loved poetry and read voraciously, completing the body of work by mystery writer Agatha Christie among an endless flow of books that passed through her hands. Also, a deeply devout person, she attended St. Bertha’s Roman Catholic Church in Tuscarora, PA as a child, was a member of St. Maurice Roman Catholic Church of Stamford, CT during her working years, and attended St. John XXIII R.C.C. of Tamaqua, PA while in retirement.

Sara was also an excellent swing and polka dancer, attending dances with her husband Stanley throughout her marriage, including at the Lakewood Ballroom. But most of all, she will be remembered as a woman who cherished time with her family, and who helped them become better people through her example, her works, and her unending belief in them.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. of 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252. (570) 6682550.
